FBI Director Christopher Wray and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas didn't show up or offer testimony at an annual Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing that took place Thursday.
Their absence marked the first time in 15 years that both heads have not attended the annual hearing, according to the committee's chairman, Rep. Gary Peters, D-Mich.
"Their choice to not provide public testimony about their departments' efforts to address wide-ranging national security threats robs the American people of critical information and the opportunity for public accountability of what the federal government is doing...SNIP
More deep state bs noted. Thank you.
Probably on the advice of their respective criminal defense attorneys.
Must be updating their resumes.
Testifying to congress now could be a liability legally soon.
Because they’re digging a hole to crawl into.
Best fix is to abolish both agencies.
They’re out at Site Y working on a plan.
“Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing ... committee’s chairman, Rep. Gary Peters, D-Mich.”
Why is a representative the chairman of a Senate committee?
Mayor’s was seen at the southern border trying to get across the Rio Grande, but was detained by the drug cartel for not having the required entrance fee and the other mutt volunteered to be the first human to travel to Mars on a space X previously owned by Mr. Majestic Musk
I think they are right. I wouldn’t either. The Congress keeps funding them lavishly, buying them new multibillion dollar HQs, reauthorizing FISA warrantless spying, etc even while the AG and his FBI director flip the finger to Congress. If you were them and Congress was that supine, would you go?
Congress is getting the respect it deserves.
A BIG FU to the people.
Not hard to figure out why Wray and Mayorkas would want to avoid this, with the Trump administration coming soon.
And telling the truth to Congress about how you have broken your oath to uphold the Constitution is the confession of an even bigger crime.
Here's the oath they have broken:
"I, [Wray and Mayorkas], do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God."They have broken their oath. They're skeerd.
Because they’re above the law.
They are busy destroying federally protected evidence and looking for a country with no extradition to US.
They should be treated the same way as Peter Navarro or Steve Bannon!
You saw that error also, eh?
He wouldn’t answer anyway. And if he did, it would be a lie.
