Ellen DeGeneres is making a quick exit from the United States — seemingly for good.
The 66-year-old talk show host, comedian and actress has moved to rural England, according to a new report in The Wrap.
DeGeneres is taking up roots in the UK with her wife Portia de Rossi, 51, and they reportedly have no plans to return to the US.
To underscore the apparent permanence of the move, the couple plan to put their Montecito mansion on the market.
A person close to the former Ellen DeGeneres Show host claimed that she and de Rossi were primarily skipping town in response to the 2024 presidential election, which saw Donald Trump win a second non-consecutive term.
DailyMail.com reached out to a former representative for DeGeneres for comment, but she no longer represents the comedian after the conclusion of her latest stand-up tour.
The couple are now reportedly living in the Cotswolds, a rural portion of Southwest England that is about 100 miles from London.
The area is popular with celebrities looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of London, which would make sense for DeGeneres and Rossi, as they had already tried to avoid Los Angeles by moving out to Santa Barbara County's Montecito, about 75 miles from LA.

DeGenres since 2005, has amassed nothing short of a ‘’property empire’’, often buying and selling dozens in the space of a year. No wonder she’s gained herself a reputation as the ultimate ‘celebrity house flipper’....
Porche was funny and very beautiful, but I can’t remember the shows she was in, nor have I seen her in anything for several years.
DeGenerous was ‘kicked out of show business’......she moved to Britain because nobody wants to hire her here.

Your description of Montecito is correct. I don’t see Ellen accepting present conditions in the UK as ‘safe’. By end of 2025...I’ll predict they leave for Greece, or end up returning to the US.
