They are incapable of true self analysis. Their biosphere and character forbids it. Leftists cannot admit they could be wrong about any of their beliefs, to do so would open up the possibility that other positions are wrong.
That is why they love throwing disinformation around, with one simple word they can discount anything someone says that they disagree with.
Up till recently they controlled most of the information space which allowed them to “fact check” everything in their world view favor.
I will say that the biggest change from 2020 is Elon buying twitter and forcing places like YouTube to allow content they didn’t in 2020
