Donald Trump promised he's 'not looking for retribution' when he enters the White House in January despite vowing to throw his enemies in jail on the campaign trail.
Despite the assurance, however, Trump pointed out he 'obviously' has the 'upper hand' and declared that he would draw the line after a certain amount of betrayal.
'I am not looking for retribution, grandstanding or to destroy people who treated me very unfairly, or even badly beyond comprehension,' he told Fox News Digital.
'I am always looking to give a second and even third chance, but never willing to give a fourth chance — that is where I hold the line.'
He didn't get more specific but did add he 'obviously' has 'the upper hand at this moment.'
Many of Trump's critics are worried they'll be subject to retribution after he takes the oath of office. Trump, during his presidential campaign, was vocal when it came to what he thought of those he considered 'enemies.'
Some of them include Republicans who were vocal in supporting Kamala Harris. Others are career government officials who angered the former president.
Olivia Troye, a former Trump administration official who denounced him in a speech at the Democratic convention in August, is one of them.
'I'm worried that I'll be targeted by him and a lot of people in his circle,' she told NBC News. 'They very much know who I am. And I'm concerned for my family.'
She's not the only person at risk.
Trump's transition team is putting together a list of senior current and former military officers who were directly involved in the withdrawal from Afghanistan and exploring whether they could be court-martialed for their actions, NBC News reported.

Many of Trump's persecutors are worried they'll be subject to the same treatment they meted out to him and other Conservatives after he takes the oath of office. Fixed it for them.
He could, for example, pull people's security clearances, making it hard for them to earn a living. Or he could prosecute them via the Justice Department.,/p>
He absolutely needs to do both.
For those criminals seeking to flee abroad....the US has extradition treaties with just about every other country. Those it does not have such treaties with - such as Russia and China - would not be very welcoming to them.
Yea. I think Trump was having fun making Joe and Mika grovel. Like the scene in Godfather II where the landlord, after learning who asked him for a favor, grovels before the godfather and lets the lady keep the apt with the dog for less rent. Trump did make a funny, sarcastic comment that went unnoticed by saying Mika was charming as usual. Obviously she’s a witch.
Olivia should play it safe and lawyer up.
Leaving the country to somewhere without an extradition treaty. That’s a mitigation.
Olivia and hundreds of others!! Including the LYING CASSIDY HUTCHINSON!
Come on....they ATE CROW!! he didn’t go to THEM...THEY went to HIM! CAW!! CAW!!
What’s up with Joe and Mika is that Trump is TRANSACTIONAL and he can show a great deal of MAGAnanimity when it serves the cause. Let us see how this develops.
Hillary Clinton still walks free and breathes clean air.
But those who stuck their necks out for President Trump on January 6 rot in prison.
There is no justice.
That was a great scene in Godfather II.
Hard to know what Trump meant by referring to Mika as “charming”, if he was serious or sarcastic. Back in the day, he and Mika were quite flirtatious with each other.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Trump won’t go after his enemies. But his surrogates will.
He shouldn’t go soft. These people need to be sleeping with one eye open and their backs to the wall.
Trump haters worried about their families?
They were definitely not worried about Trump’s family when they attacked Trump......
The vengeful haters must have enjoyed hauling
Ivanka into court to testify against her father.
All treason should be dealt with a public execution.
That is NOT retribution.
I would remind Trump that in his first presidency Trump was asked why he
didnt go after Hillary-——financier of the salacious falsified Russian dossier.
“We dont do things like that in America, “ Trump naively said.
Now look what they did to him.
Re: 8 - President Trump has telegraphed how things will go, as you point out.
It’s going to be little different this time.
That’s just who he is - at the end of the day he’s working forward the future.
Many of the officers involved should be court martialed others should be busted, how far down depends on their participation.
Those in the FBI either fired or again, demoted so their retirement pay is cut in half.
I also think smart representatives and senators will bring in their own staff. The same with the White House staff.
Those people in government who went after Trump should have their security clearances pulled.
The return of Justice is the answer.
And true Justice will involve the need to build some gallows for those who are tried, convicted, and sentenced for giving aid and comfort to the domestic and foreign enemies of the United States.
Justice is NOT retribution.
