A whole ren fest of ye olde turkey legges.
When I was on my own, I used to cook up a Cornish Game Hen for Thanksgiving.
Give me the traditional turkey feast at Thanksgiving. I enjoy all the elements of it. However, one of my great pleasures that has become our family tradition is the next day taking turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, and gravy leftovers and stirring them all together and microwaving. My boys and I call it turkey-goop. My wife accommodates this now by making a lot more of everything than we need so there are plenty of leftovers. This concoction will be my lunch and dinner for a couple of days after Thanksgiving.
Corn souffle and wild pheasant added to our typical traditional feast, along with typical Scandinavian items.
“Yes I remember I had lasagna.”
Only 17? The guy from Forrest Gump could do a whole lot more with shrimp.
I get turkey tenderloins from Walmart. And St. Claire cornbread dressing from the local food saver.
I wrap the tenderloins in foil and place in the oven with the cornbread dressing on a large cookie sheet.
An hour later both are done and perfect. This approach has made turkey dinners so easy.
I’ve got a turkey they gave out at work last year so I’m going to go ahead and cook it even though it’s just two of us here.
there’s an aged tenderized lime rock encrusted armadillo at the end of my driveway...
Wife and I just do a Butterball boneless turkey breast, with a southwestern rub and orange juice basting sauce.
Dressing made on the side with cognac cranberry sauce is my wife’s task.
Plenty of food for the two of us.
Once the kids all married, the Thanksgiving Schedule is always in flux.
We decided not to torture them with a second traditional turkey dinner (and make ourselves do all the work).
We grill lamb chops, make sweet potato casserole, fresh salad, etc.
Everyone loves it.
Once grandkids exploded, I need a bigger grill! Lamb. chops for 16!
Probably going to do #16 for Thanksgiving this year as youngest son got a frozen turkey from work and forgot it in his car for 2 days. Guess what we’re having for dinner tomorrow? HAHA!
If you live in the southeast, Publix has a smoked turkey breast sometimes.
