My email address is (somebody) @webtv.net.
Since webtv ceased operations decades ago it is kinda amusing when I am notified that webtv is having technical issues.
I get emails and texts telling me all kinds of accounts are in danger or about to expire and I don’t even have any!...............
I laugh when they send me an email on the email account I own and say the admin is concerned about something. I own the website, and I am my own administrator.
Scambaiting is a great hobby.
If I’m having a slow day, I call these slime bags and give them my name - Jimmy Snuka, Fred Garvin, Captain Lou Albano etc.
I ask to speak with someone about my account. I then tie these bastages up for a while with nonsense, eg My address is 1313 Mocking Bird Lane or 1060 West Addison in Chicago. I may mess up the spelling or get a number or three wrong and start from the beginning.
The longer I can tie them up, the less time they have to rip off the elderly etc.
What’s sad is the idiots falling for these scams.
I received similar scams from Paramount + and Netflix
Is my AOL account from 1994 still active?
I delete any email offering services or warnings or products hat I did not ask for. If the name of the sender is someone I ge email from normally but is not quite the way he writes I check the address and it is always a machine issued type of address and therefore is crap I don’t want. I also put my own symbol on the To: line of my email. I send, and have told my correspondents to NOT open anything from me without that sign. That comes from a spam pilot that invaded my address list and sent the whole list advertisements.
When you get a panic email from mikrosoft.com, it MIGHT possibly be a scam???? Say it isn’t so!
Idjits....
Been getting such pop ups for a month.
VERY ANNOYING
