FBI agents raided the Manhattan apartment of Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan early Wednesday — just a week after the election betting platform accurately predicted Donald Trump’s stunning victory, The Post has learned.
The 26-year-old entrepreneur was roused from bed in his Soho pad at 6 a.m. by US law enforcement personnel who demanded he turn over his phone and other electronic devices, a source close to the matter told The Post.
It’s “grand political theater at its worst,” the source told The Post. “They could have asked his lawyer for any of these things. Instead, they staged a so-called raid so they can leak it to the media and use it for obvious political reasons.”
Coplan was not provided with a reason for the raid, but the source suspects it was political retribution since Polymarket predicted an easy Trump triumph over Vice President Kamala Harris — as opposed to traditional polls.
The source also speculated that the government is likely piggybacking off liberal media reports that accuse Polymarket of market manipulation and rigging its polls in favor of Trump.

So... The FBI is blaming betting markets for Trump’s win... And now they must pay the price?
Malicious prosecutions are against the law... And the FBI has been breaking a lot of laws over the past four years.
There are no whistleblowers in the FBI. Contrary to Hannity, 98% of them are not “good, hardworking, honest agents”.
Funny the FIBBIES never go after the other sports betting platforms. Shickenchits.
January 20 at 12:01 PM, there should be a squad of US Marshals at FBI headquarters to deliver his termination letter, confiscate his credentials and service weapon and to escort him from the premises.
. . . yet.
The purported purpose is the website allowed bettors to bet using VPNs to be private. Not sure how this is a crime.
But, hey, everything is a crime if the current federal government decides it is a crime.
I have no inside information as to whether or not 98 percent of today's FBI agents are “good, hardworking, honest agents,” as you quote Hannity as asserting. Do you?
How many years have we been complaining of FBI over reach against conservatives? Since at least 2016, and no one from within has said this shouldn’t be happening.
The FBI should be reined in or flattened, as appropriate to their behavior. What I oppose is hyperbole--particularly in the use of statistics. Where it occurs, I don't think it helps us navigate, convince the leaners, or force public servants to serve the public.
What is intimidating to the enemies of the truth are persistent, up-to-date, well-stated, loud assertions of reality.
What judge approved it? Who signed the affidavits?
I’d sure like to see Matt Gaetz sink his teeth into this
I can understand the FBI’s impulse here.
If you’re going out, GO OUT WITH A BANG!
FBI thinking they're onto something:
So to accept such bets, you have to register with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Whether such a regulation is, or should be, Constitutional, I don't know.
Yep. Most LEOs are loyal only to their pensions and will take their marching orders from the top much like the Nazi SS.
Pretty sure if they had predicted a Kamalama Ding Dong victory they wouldn’t be getting raided.

If they did, I would guess they might send a letter, not push for an FBI raid, unless there was a real terrorism connection.
Polymarket has blocked access to Americans since 2022, following a settlement with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which accused the company of running an unregistered derivatives-trading platform.
