Founded in 1965? I thought “Rock you like a hurricane” was their debut in the 1980s.

Michael Schenker is one of the best rock guitarists ever. The guitar work on UFO ‘s first 4 albums was insane.

Nope. Debut was Lonesome Crow in 1972; they broke up the next year but reformed in 1974, then went through a slew of band members. Love At First Sting came out in 1984 and was a bigger hit than the 1981 predecessor Blackout, though.

They once did a rock version of Rentaro Taki's Kojo no Tsuki (Moon over the Ruined Castle), basically wringing out all the sabishii from the song. I use it in my music course as an example of a cover that wrecks the original, as when Lick the Tins covered Elvis' "I can't help falling in love with you" as a metal polka.

Michael Schenker is one of the best rock guitarists ever. The guitar work on UFO ‘s first 4 albums was insane. Saw Schenker with UFO back in '76 at "Day on the Green", with Frampton, Fleetwood Mac and Gary Wright. "Obsession" still gets spun on my turntable once in a while. There's something about the track "Cherry" that still stirs me after 45 years.

I was expecting to see Schenker when I bought tickets to see UFO in Long Beach (CA) in ‘79, but he had recently quit or was fired or something. Don’t know what happened. That year was tumultuous for him. He was replaced by Paul Chapman on guitar, who was ok, but no Schenker.
UFO’s live release from Jan of ‘79, Strangers in the Night, is still one of the best live rock albums of all time, imo. With Schenker, of course.

They lost all respect with that stupid Gorky Park song..they were great in the 1970s and until Blackout.
To: montag813
They had six or seven albums before that. Mind blown, right?

“Gorky Park”
I heard that song at the barber shop last weekend. My playlist has plenty of Scorps going back a long way but not that tune.
