Lots of speculation on various things related to this appointment today, and none of it seems outlandish. Just a few points to consider:

1. Trump hasn't made a single official nomination yet to any of these posts. He's not even President yet.

2. This means that if anyone is going to fill one of these cabinet positions through a recess appointment, it must happen AFTER January 20th.

3. This leads me to believe that some of these announcements are mainly intended to test Senate Republicans up front to see how they will likely vote in a confirmation battle after January 20th.

4. There's also a good possibility that some of these are just clownish "appointments" aimed at getting attention and pissing a lot of D.C. insiders off. LOL.

You may be right. Some of these picks may be to smoke the snakes out of the grass.

And who would be a serious choice? Someone like Josh Hawley? Ted Cruz?

These are the only people that haven’t tried to throw Trump and his cohorts and appointees in jail

They are all serious

EXACTLY my thoughts on this. It's actually brilliant. Who has ever heard of a President-elect announcing his principal nominees a week after the election? He's taking notes and names from all the reaction, and can also poll on it to gauge public sentiment.

I’ve thought that, too. On Inauguration Day he’ll he’ll announce his REAL appointments. Just being an agent of chaos now as a mind f**k to the libs. Messing with them.

You have a keen mind, though I don't always agree with you.

I see Gaetz as a sacrificial lamb. Others have said DeSantis can appoint him for Rubio's seat, and so Gaetz would then be facing the same men who voted against him in the Senate.

Lots of potential angles here.

Sen. Fetterman today laughed and said, "Trump right now is engaged in some God-level trolling to cause a China Syndrome meltdown and own the libs!"

He might not be wrong.

If the 'appointees' are in Congress and resign now then the 90-day election process for a replacement can begin right away, thus having that Congressperson in place on January 20 with no damage to a narrow House majority.

Complete nonsense. Could you identify which of these are clownish?
