3. This leads me to believe that some of these announcements are mainly intended to test Senate Republicans up front to see how they will likely vote in a confirmation battle after January 20th. 4. There's also a good possibility that some of these are just clownish "appointments" aimed at getting attention and pissing a lot of D.C. insiders off. LOL.

EXACTLY my thoughts on this. It's actually brilliant. Who has ever heard of a President-elect announcing his principal nominees a week after the election? He's taking notes and names from all the reaction, and can also poll on it to gauge public sentiment.
