The demographic that has been around long enough to appreciate his work favor President Trump by a large margin. He has depreciated the value of the shows, movies that he was in, along with the value of legacy products. Maybe he is not fond of his progeny; he just screwed them over.

That said... having done a lot of volunteer work with folks much older than myself, I have known a lot of people approaching and passing 100. Not many of them have all their faculties. He was likely influenced by his care givers. I am not going to ban Mary Poppins in our houshold... yet.

It goes to another video where he reads the speech he gave at a MLK event. Saying there is no room for hate.... Does Dick Van Dyke need reminding that it was the Republican Party that ended slavery, be it accidental or by design, while the Democrat Party created the KKK in response to that?

But he actually did not say he would rather be dead then to live under Donald Trump. He said he hopes Trump can do what he promises, but that he won't be around the entire 4 years to see it.

Seeing as he will turn 99 in 1 month, 12/13/2024, I would say he is most likely correct with his statement.
