WASHINGTON (TNND) — Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson on Tuesday defied a threat by President-elect Donald Trump’s border czar, saying police in his city would not work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials to remove illegal migrants.
The remarks were Mayor Johnson's first since the presidential election, which saw Democrats defeated in several major races across the country. He reassured city residents that “no matter who is in the White House,” Chicago would remain a sanctuary city.
“This week I am very mindful that we are one week out from the presidential election,” he said. “The outcome of the election is not one that we were hoping for in many ways, to say the least.”
When asked specifically about a promise by Trump’s selected border czar, Tom Homan, that ICE agents will double their presence in sanctuary cities, Mayor Johnson said he is prepared to resist their efforts.
“We’re going to defend the people of this city because his attack, let’s be very clear — the president-elect, former President Trump, his threat is not just toward new arrivals, and undocumented families” Mayor Johnson said. “His threats are also against Black families.”
I pray President Trump is successful at cutting off ALL federal “funding” to these nullification states and cities.
OUR tax dollars support these insurrectionist places. They happily take our tax money and proceed to spit in our faces with this anti-American, illegal support of criminal invaders.

Black families in Chicago have been outraged that benefits they would normally receive are going to the invaders. Black families are not happy, or quiet about the matter.

Would love to see that mayor dragged out of office in hand cuffs. That would be worth turning on the news for.
Send 50 more buses and stay away for awhile. Then request that all of the politicians in Chicago take in at least 2 families into their homes and publish responses and non-responses.
Fine. So we will just remove them from the Red and swing states only for now.
I’m pretty darn sure most of the blacks in Chicago want the illegals out. That especially if they start flocking there at 2 or 3 times the rate they have been.
Trump needs to clean illegals out of Republican states first, then liberal states lastly. This will drive most illegals to the blue states to the point of overload. Doing it in this order will also result in court rulings from conservative judges, instead of liberal judges, and set precedents before hitting the blue states.
