Russia attacked the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Wednesday with a sophisticated combination of missiles and drones for the first time in 73 days, authorities reported, as the Pentagon said most of the North Korean troops sent to help Moscow's war effort were fighting to drive Ukraine's army off Russian soil in the Kursk border region.

The air assault came as most of the more than 10,000 North Korean troops sent by Pyongyang to help Moscow in the war were engaged in fighting in Kursk, where a Ukrainian army incursion three months ago has succeeded in holding a broad area of land, embarrassing the Kremlin.
Russia's military has trained the North Korean soldiers in artillery, drone skills and basic infantry operations, including trench clearing, Pentagon deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel told a briefing Tuesday. The cooperation faces challenges, according to the Pentagon, including how to achieve military interoperability and overcoming the language barrier.

It was “the” Ukraine when it was part of the soviet union, much like we in America might refer to Nebraska, Iowa, etc as “the midwest”.
Ukraine isn’t part of the USSR anymore. Now it’s just Ukraine.
The sole source of the alleged phone call Trump made to Putin was the WaPo, known CIA mouthpiece, citing “anonymous sources”. (If you want to know what the CIA wants you to think, just check out WaPo, especially anything by David Ignatius.)
The Kremlin has denied the call took place and called the report “a complete fiction”. Trump’s communications director more or less denied it.
Think about it. Would an American president-elect call another world leader who had not already made a “congratulations” call to him first? Seriously?
There have been lots of crazy stories put out there, such as Pompeo becoming Secretary of Defense, and the list goes on and on.

The call happened and Putin had a hissy fit that Trump’s warning not to escalate was leaked. That’s why Putin aired nude phones of Melania on Russian State TV after the call as well as attacking Kyiv this morning.
Putin has proved that he is a colossal blockhead by allying himself with North Korea.
Any respect for him, aside from the insane Ukrainian War, has dissipated. There was very little at any rate. He needs to end this NOW and let that little Biden Buddy, Volodymyr fade into the oblivion with this largesse for which he blackmailed a traitorous dog to get.

Ukraine’s loss is a huge victory for US taxpayers, and a huge blow to the US war cheerleaders…..win, win. The only thing left to do is negotiate with Vlad about how much of Ukraine he allows them to keep.
Vlad has shown much restraint, but realize his stated objectives will be met.

“Ukraine” simply means “borderlands” or “frontier”, so the region was referred to as “the Ukraine” (as in “the borderlands” or “the frontier”). It’s similar to “the Sudan” (derived from the Arabic name meaning “land of the blacks”), a geographical region much larger than the present country, and Sudan, the nation state.
Borders were constantly shifting between empires where present day Ukraine is. The western part was once known as Galicia (and still is), while the eastern part was “Little Russia”, and so on. It was always split on the borderlands between these various empires.
The people we now call “Ukrainians” called themselves “Rusyn” (often Anglicized as “Ruthenian”) up into the 1920s, and their language was also called “Rusyn”. The Ukrainian (formerly known as Rusyn) language is similar to Belarusian.
And now the borders are shifting again. Poor Ukraine.
Send the North Korean troops home minus their heads.
