Myers is the only one I have heard of and have drank, although I’m sure it wasn’t this reserve version.

Not a single Bacardi made the list? I have a smidgen of Bacardi Gold, just used by my wife for pecan pie.

We just came home from a 14 night cruise with 8 sea days across the Atlantic and discovered Ron Zacapa No. 23 is a nice rum.

It’s not “classy” but Sailor Jerry’s is pretty good. Sailor Jerry & Diet Coke is a deliciously lethal combo that sneaks up on you.

actually a good/legitoimate list. Usually these lists reek of being bought and paid for.

When I was in college, about the only rum I had heard of was Bacardi white or maybe gold. After college, I married my college sweetheart, and we honeymooned in Jamaica. I graduated to Appleton Estate and drank that for many more years. I started with their basic rum and kept trying older and older rums. Myer’s dark rum was usually available at restaurants. Then one time, wherever we were eating/drinking, they had Zacapa 23. That has become one of my favorites. I still prefer it to Diplomatico. There’s a nice 12 year Flor de Cana that is comparable to Zacapa 23, and costs a few dollars less. I’m surprised there’s none of the Plantation line on this list. They have a nice overproof, and a couple of fun twists, like a Fiji island one that’s fun for a MaiTai or a Grog.

Zacapa 23 is a very nice consistent rum, IMHO. I keep a bottle on hand at all times.

I have! It is my adult beverage of choice. The thing I always liked about it, compared to other spirits, is that I can easily tell when I’m getting buzzed, and I can throttle back quickly. I absolutely don’t have that awareness with gin or tequila, so I won’t touch either of those.

I’ll have to check for that next time I go to the liquor store. I’m not sure that’s sold in Indiana, but I will look for it. Thanks for the suggestion.
