God bless
The Russians use Vodka as anti freeze due to it does not freeze until about -27 F. 🤣 I keep my vodka in the freezer, drink it cold and it’s a little bit thicker which makes it interesting.
Where’s Skol?
I've been lucky. With the way I drank when I was younger, it is amazing I can drink anything at all, but fortunately, vodka is the only one.
Reminds me. I went on a series of wonderful sailing trips in the Caribbean with good friends, and one of the craziest and most wonderfully debauched drinking holes I have ever been to all around the world (and I have been to a few) was a place called "Nippers" down in the Abacos.
NIPPER'S BEACH BAR & GRILL GREAT GUANA CAY, ABACO, BAHAMAS
Nippers is basically an entire island that seemed only a few hundred yards across in the Abacos in the Caribbean, but looking at it here, it was clearly bigger...:)
You can only get there by boat. I went down there on a 40 foot catamaran with my wife and three other couples, and as the sun was setting, there were boats from all points of the compass converging on this place.
As we walked up, there were people heading the other way leaving, in various states of intoxication, and I recall one pretty, grinning girl saying to us in a high, lilting voice “You’ll be sooorrrryyyyyyyy...”
My last semi-sober memory was all of us sitting in the sand on the beach in front of the place singing the theme song to “Gilligan’s Island”. I became so skunked I pitched forward, head first into the sand trying to stand up and jammed my neck. Causes problems until this day...
It was the most...er...well, I can only describe what took place there as “bacchanalia”.
It wasn’t until we had left, when I heard a song composed by a singer “The Barefoot Guy” that I knew it was COMPLETELY on target, and encapsulated the entire experience. I could not have been, and obviously wasn’t, the first.
The name of the song is: “At Nippers” (This is a link to listen to the song: "At Nippers!"
I had to laugh! I listened again to the song at the link...at the end, where all the drunk people (mostly women) are singing along...that is exactly what the place sounds like!
“AT NIPPERS”
I recall tequila in Mexico
Potato Moonshine from Idaho
Octoberfest out in Germany
But I can’t remember two weeks last September
When I was on Guana Key
I was at Nippers
They say I was passed out cold
At Nippers
I was dancin’ naked, or so I was told
At Nippers
Round the corner by the old fig tree
I was intoxicated
Inebriated
Three notches past tipseeeee
I recall the best wine from Gay Paree
Straight white rum from Miami
Bourbon Whiskey from old skid row
But I can’t remember
Two weeks last September
When I was in Abaco
I was at Nippers
I hear there’s a real grand view
At Nippers
Well, if it’s there, I ain’t got a clue
At Nippers
Round the corner by the old fig tree
I was intoxicated
Inebriated
Three notches past tipseeeee
I’ve consumed hot sake in Tokyo
And chilly vodka on old Moscow
When it comes to drinkin’ I’m versatile
Hey, but I can’t remember
Two weeks last September
On that Bahamian Isle
I was at Nippers
I hear the food is great
At Nippers
Oh, I lost my partial plate
At Nippers
Round the corner by the old fig tree
I was intoxicated
Inebriated
Three notches past tipseeeee
At Nippers
Down in Abaco
At Nippers
Hey, my friends, that’s where I’m layin’ low
At Nippers,
Round the corner by the old fig tree
I was intoxicated
Inebriated
Three notches past tipseeeee
At Nippers
Down in Abaco
That’s where I’m layin’ low
At Nippers,
Round the corner by the old fig tree
I was intoxicated
Inebriated
Three notches past tipseeeee
Stoli comes in 4 flavors as well.
Used to be 5....... but that’s another Stoli.
I told the Japanese bartender to give me a Stoli, with a twist.
He said OK.
Once upon a time, there were these FOUR little pigs.....
What do the Japanese do when they have erections? They vote!!!!
Hillary Clinton has joined the meeting.
“””””The best vodka drink I have ever had was at a restaurant in Padua Italy”””””
A long time ago I was on a martini jag and asked an older close friend who was well traveled and with good money where the best martini was, thinking of something within the county or just across the border, I had overlooked that he was a just retired senior rear admiral and his long list of evaluations covered named bartenders in a number of countries, unfortunately none within the state, or even in the U.S.
Thanks. He was a great man. Along with his wife, he (they) raised one very great son (and 4 daughters). I’m one blessed lady.
Grey Goose ranks tops in preferences and then does terribly in blind taste tests, which shock its fans who take the tests.
We keep a bottle of Grey Goose in the freezer for when we have guests who enjoy that beverage. I’ll sip it once in a great while. Not very often. It lasts a long time here.
Rum (my choice) and beer (for hubby) don’t last nearly as long. We have to replenish our supply regularly.
All that matters is how many times it’s been distilled for impurities. Burnett’s is 4x, as good as Smirnoff for half the price. Pinnacle is 5x, no burn at all.
I would add Reyka Vodka from Iceland
I’m not shocked. LOL!
“All that matters is how many times it’s been distilled for impurities. Burnett’s is 4x, as good as Smirnoff for half the price. Pinnacle is 5x, no burn at all.”
And the “impurities” added back in for flavor.
Not a liquor drinker but where’s the Titos? It’s all my liquor drinking friends talk about.
BWAAAHAAAHAHAHAH
Yer bad, I had to read that one twice...:)
