The DC/London Axis has long wanted this, but for different reasons. They want a breather to rearm Ukraine. The DMZ “frozen conflict” they yearn for is all about supporting Ukraine.
They have Ukraine not accepting that Donbass and Crimea are gone forever, they want to use a pause to bring Ukraine into NATO or some kind of NATO lite status, then flood the place with weapons, missiles, build an Air Force etc.
This is the Minsk problem. Our side openly admits that was what that cease fire was about.
