While it may be tempting, a national voting standard sounds like the kind of thing Democrats would do.

Minimum standards are not what Dems would do or they would have done it.

National voting standards sounds like something unconstitutional. Elections are entirely the responsibility of the several State Legislatures. Fedzilla is already too big.

Depends on what they are meaning by standards.

Things like ID, mail-in, absentee etc. all seem quite reasonable.

States though should maintain their own primary systems etc.

It does.

That could backfire big time.

Must we fight off Ranked Choice Voting, or other changes the ‘Rats dream up, indefinitely?

Like it or not, voting and elections appear in the US Constitution and in State Constitutions. This ought to mean something other than constant ‘Rat redefinition.

Hell, now we have to define what a Woman is for these ‘Rats.

Agreed. Elections are run by the STATES. We don’t need central federal control.

True. A great many states have tightened election procedures on their own. If we federalize this, when the Dims retake congress and the presidency they could legislate no proof of citizenship nationwide and prohibit the cleaning up of voter rolls. I don’t like federalizing things. That’s the source of a lot of our problems now.

Well we have seen what the Democrats have implemented! You know like 16 million ghost voters! Taking a week to count ballots! 2am ballot drops! Machine failure after testing and certified!

So universal standards are not a bad thing.

I think there should be a uniform voting standard for the Presidential elections in all states.

If we are electing a person to be POTUS over all States, then the standard should be the same.

That would go a long way in cutting out the cheating and illegal voting.

Our voting rules were designed when we were a small rural country.

The 60 days between voting and changeover was designed for horseback times.

Everybody votes.
No RCV
ONE PAPER PALLOT.
MSNY VOTING PLACES

I couldn't say for sure, but it seems to me the rats already have their standards installed and running pretty well. That, of course, would be no standards at all.

We need a good voter ID system nation wide. And if your unable to obtain an ID to vote there's probably a good reason for it..

You have a point. Would it matter if the national voting standard applied to Federal elections only?

Perhaps the venue for this topic should be the Convention of States project. That would seem to be the most feasible way to amend the Constitution.

Not if you had a constitutional amendment that said:
Same-day voting only.
Absentee ballots only.
Paper ballots.
Hand counts with lots of witnesses.
Chain of custody ensured with lots of witnesses.

I agree. The voting act already gives the federal government too much say so over how states run their elections. Put more authority in place and the next administration after Trump will use it to suppress legit votes and allow rampant suspect ones.

It is up to the voters of states to elect officials who will clean up the process for that state.

We already have one. It is ILLEGAL, under FEDERAL LAW, to require proof of citizenship to vote in a federal election.
