President-elect Trump is expected to get to work immediately upon taking office enacting major changes on immigration, energy and foreign policy.
Trump late last year suggested he would not rule as a dictator “except for day one,” a sign he intends to use executive authority aggressively to implement changes to immigration policy and energy policy in particular.
Trump has also signaled he would move swiftly to roll back protections for transgender youth, and he would fire the man prosecuting a criminal case against him.
Here’s a look at what Trump has said he will do “on day one.”

Energy and climate measures
Trump has pledged on day one to “drill, baby, drill,” a vague campaign slogan that signals he will seek to further ramp up oil production from already record-setting levels. He has also outlined more specific steps he will take to reverse Biden-era environmental regulations.
On his campaign website, Trump included a pledge to “roll back every Biden policy that is brutalizing American autoworkers” on day one. Trump has repeatedly signaled he would seek to roll back regulations requiring automakers to meet certain emissions standards that incentivize increased electric vehicle production.
Trump in August said he would eliminate a Biden administration rule cracking down on planet-warming emissions and other pollution from power plants. During his time in the White House, Trump issued significantly less stringent rules for power plants.
At a New Jersey rally earlier this year, Trump told the crowd he would sign an executive order on “day one” to halt windmill projects, targeting a key source of clean energy.
Trump could also move to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accords once again, taking the U.S. out of the global pact to lower emissions. Trump pulled out of the accords during his first term...

That is vague? JD was right, these people really don't listen to themselves, or read what they write.
Cannot wait to clean house of the dems.
The last 4 years were a nightmare.
Green Nuts vs. Trump
I, a black-robed, self-appointed dictator, do find the Biden era regulations on motor vehicles and power plants to be based on the statutory law passed by Congress.
As such, Trump can’t undo the Biden era regulations.
The Biden era regulations stand.
By Order of Judge Fallen Coconut
I would be happy enough with either one, just pick one and end this nonsense of back and forth.
And Biden did that with a stroke of a pen. The Hill is already spinning animus towards Trump. Trump has to get legislation through that makes his policies law, not just EOs that are easily rescinded by next regime.
How about make the bums pay their student loans.
Some governer needs to send their National Guard to the border to stop that herd of 2500 that the Mehicans are escorting to pickup up their cellphone ATMs at the border. If the Guard needs to get in a fight with the Federales, so be it. Illegal immigration is over.
I like that. But IMHO, we can do better. The states should take up an attitude that the federal government doesn't have a say in their energy policies. With Trump in office, the DOJ won't try to stop the states (or at least won't try as hard). And the states can win their argument all the way to SCOTUS. That's a more lasting impact than federal law supplanting EO's.
Told my wife jokingly that I’d vote for Kamala if she’d do away with Daylight Savings Time and made Halloween the third or last Saturday of October.
Trump vowed on day one to return “to a foreign policy that puts America’s interests first.”
A sharp reversal from Biden’s billion dollar giveaways to Ukraine and other foreign bums whose self-esteem is invested in the numbers of billions in foreign aid extricated from a sitting president-——especially in an election year.
Professional help is available.
I wish they would do a Constitutional amendment on number of justices on the Supreme Court but I suspect it would fail a few states.
I would love to see that smarmy, lying FBI Director Christopher Wray get fired. He’ll probably resign before Trump takes office, so we won’t get to enjoy watching his sorry ass get fired.
Every day of the next four years needs to be a Hurry Up day. There is too much to do.
There no excuse for foot dragging and delay. Republicans need to hit the ground running — while the political wind is still blowing their way.
OH man, it that going to be a great freaking day.
How would any Dem propagandist at this Radical left newsletter
know anything from
their mortal enemies . The Gop and Trump admin .
This is pure crap .
Still trying to find where, in that pesky constitution thingie, that the fed was granted to power to regulate the environment...
“Trump has also signaled he would move swiftly to roll back protections for transgender youth,”
I love this game of “Find a Lie.” It is not protecting mentally ill youth to ban mutilation surgery and hormone blockers for minors.
Free the J6 political prisoners and identify all the undercover feds that were agitating that day and throw the book at them
