Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has explained why President Vladimir Putin does not plan to congratulate Donald Trump on his victory in the US election, APA reports citing TASS.
"I still know nothing about Putin's intention to congratulate Trump," the Kremlin spokesman told the media. A few hours earlier, Peskov also said Putin had no plans for congratulating Trump.
"I suggest remembering that we are talking about an election that took place in a country that is unfriendly to us and in a country that is involved in the conflict over Ukraine," Peskov said.

MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. According to media reports, Republican Donald Trump has surpassed the necessary threshold to declare victory in the US presidential election. In response, world leaders and officials extended their congratulations.
TASS has compiled congratulatory messages and reactions to Trump's apparent win.
Polish President Andrzej Duda on X: "Congratulations, Mr. President Donald Trump! You made it happen!"
European Council chief Charles Michel on X: "Congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump. The EU and the US have an enduring alliance and a historic bond. As allies and friends, the EU looks forward to continuing our constructive cooperation. The EU will pursue its course in line with the strategic agenda as a strong, united, competitive and sovereign partner while defending the rules-based multilateral system."
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte on X: "I just congratulated Donald Trump on his election as President of the United States. His leadership will again be key to keeping our Alliance strong. I look forward to working with him again to advance peace through strength through NATO."
President of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen on X: "I warmly congratulate Donald J. Trump. The EU and the US are more than just allies. Mr. Putin is not stupid. I suspect his congratulations will follow Kamala’s concession.
But your simple-minded brain is incapable of processing reality.
All they really accomplished by getting involved was to destroy Ukraine. Lots of people died because of that stupidity.
