Watch as numerous fire departments rush to the scene of a major fire at a lithium battery recycling plant in Fredericktown, Missouri, earlier this evening.

The blaze, which broke out at the 225,000-square-foot facility owned by Critical Mineral Recovery, led to shelter-in-place advisories and mandatory evacuation orders in the surrounding area.

According to its website, the company uses this facility to “recycle lithium-ion battery materials from battery manufacturers, automotive OEMs, battery dealers, recyclers, and processors worldwide,” describing it as “one of the largest lithium-ion battery processing facilities in the world.”

All plant workers have been safely accounted for, with only minor injuries reported

It was that or another chicken warehouse. Has either party mentioned it? Is it a thing? I would think so. Lucky EVs are made of all natural materials which keep them ‘net zero’ and posing no threat to workers eh?

the folks who have houses that were in that smoke plume have no idea what they are in for ... smoke is nothing more than a mixture of microscopic particles ... those particles fall to the ground sooner or later and cover everything ...

where i live, the forest fires in surrounding states had been continuously sending their smoke to where we live and every day, after simply driving for a few minutes, our cars would be covered with a very fine film of very fine gray soot ... naturally, we also breathed in that same soot and it was absorbed into our lungs ... [smoke alerts kept advising folks to stay indoors]

everything in that battery plant fire smoke plume will be finely coated with a highly toxic witches brew of lithium compounds and other compounds ... people there are going to slowly sicken and die and their properties will become worthless ... by then, there will be nobody to sue ... in the mean time, though,Trump 47 needs to make sure that the Feds don’t cover this up due to their irrational love of highly toxic lithium battery technology ...

The efforts to save the environment are going through great pains to damage the environment and harm people at the same time.

Well, I’m glad I haven’t bought that electric combine or tractor for the farm yet. I guess I’ll just have to keep running diesel fuel.

I remember when I started my new job last year. Even though I work it remotely in Florida, I started by spending 3 months in the office in Silver Spring, Maryland. Late in that period, the Canadian wildfire smoke came down, and it was eerie driving down I-270 from Gaithersburg and actually seeing discrete clouds of smoke going by my car window.

There is an EV plant being built north of Kokomo, IN. I fear one day that plant will be the cause of major environmental damage in the years to come. Just another reason why I want to get away from this area of the state.

Pretty cool video but I’ll bet the RAT lawyers in Missouri are already demanding that the Feral judges give their “early voters” another month to vote.

Worst of all is the hydrogen fluoride. Exposure to skin or by inhaling, HF can result in skin burns and lung damage that can take time (hours to weeks) to develop following exposure.
