Russia and the US are 'on the brink of direct military conflict', with Biden to blame, Putin's foreign minister warns

The United States and Russia are very close to engaging in 'direct military conflict,' Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned in an interview published Friday in a Turkey daily, just days ahead of a US presidential election.

'Under the current president (Joe Biden), who has taken the downward spiral of Russophobia in the US to its logical conclusion, our countries are on the brink of direct military conflict,' he told the Hurriyet daily, without elaborating.

Asked about next week's US election pitting former Republican president Donald Trump against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, Lavrov said the outcome would make little difference to Russia.

'We have no preference. When the Trump administration was in power, it adopted the highest number of anti-Russian sanctions compared to its predecessors,' he said.

-snip-

Lavrov's comments come just days after Putin staged a mock nuclear war, aunching scores of missiles capable of unleashing a 'massive' strike in a stark warning to the West.

Donbas is Ukrainian land, not Russian. Russia has no business in it.

I understand the truth that Russia was provoked into this conflict. Something you refuse to accept. Instead of provoking a conflict, we should have honestly & in good faith worked to broker a peaceful resolution. Provided Ukraine with a trade agreement, while taking NATO membership for Ukraine off the table. Perhaps we might have even worked to offer NATO membership to Russia, and included Ukraine & Georgia membership into NATO into the negotiations.

Instead, people like you can only think in terms of military solutions. The only thing you did was to drive Russia into the arms of Russia, Iran, North Korea and other nations who do not hold what were once western values, that as I look around them, the majority, if not all, have adopted tyrannical inclinations. They are more dedicated to taking freedoms away from their citizens.

You know like they have done to Brits who may face jail if they wrong speak on the internet. Most of Europe blames their citizens who face consequences when they fight back against the illegal invaders into their country with no say in the stupid decision their "elected" leaders, who like us probably never voted for those in power, but instead were installed in election thefts.

Either grow a brain or leave the dark side if you think that what I am saying is utter BS. Because you are part of the problem, either because you are complicit or incredible blind to not see the reality for yourself.

Hogwash.

Even if some American diplomats were dumb enough to broadcast their ideas of NATO membership for Ukraine, there were 30 other countries in NATO telling Russia that

1. Ukraine would need to apply first - and it never had applied.
2. There’d have to be a UNANIMOUS vote to approve it - with 3 countries already saying they’d veto it.

If Russia really is so retarded that it believed Ukraine would ever be joining NATO this side of 2060 despite those two immutable facts, then it is too retarded to be allowed to pull the strings in any serious geopolitical discussion.

What’s more likely is, Russia’s “provoked into this conflict” is better described as manufactured outrage. Russia wanted to annex Ukraine, it needed an excuse, and so it invented an excuse, and its excuse wouldn’t have any legs if dimbulb Americans hadn’t kept banging on about how NATO has an open door policy that meant any country (including Ukraine) could apply.

There didn’t need to be a military solution for the Donbas either. You had a tiny bunch of Azov nazis picking fights with Russian paramilitaries and Russian soldiers on “holiday”, and that is all it ever was.
