Real story is as gripping, though not so much fun, as Tarantino's movie.

Well, I’ll say this, after this one set in WWII, the last two were unwatchable and sick.
The Civil War one and the Western were gross, disgusting, unwatchable and painted White people in the worst light possible.
I suspect Tarantino suffers from White guilt, and if so he should get help with that.

My dad’s first assignment was as a radioman, going behind the lines with a small patrol to scout the German positions. He had to call in every 15 minutes. If you didn’t call in it was assumed you were captured or dead.
