Frightening video shows a person running on top of a moving train at the same Queens station where a teenage girl died and her young friend was critically injured while subway surfing over the weekend.
A heart-pounding clip taken Thursday by a concerned New Yorker near the 111th Street station in Corona shows someone precariously jogging along the top of an elevated subway car.
A second clip from April shows at least five youngsters atop another subway car in the same corridor along Roosevelt Avenue.

Just because they are f-ing idiots is no reason to call them ‘stupid’.

I have a hard time putting my finger on exactly why we knew the difference but so many kids today don’t seem to know.
Or do they know, but are driven by something that seems more important to them, by which we weren’t compelled?

You had the new kid push from the middle, right?

It’s called social media. Have camera will travel! But then Darwin takes over.

They must have terrible needs to show off before others and bolster their self esteem.
I just don’t remember kids being like that when I was young. We wanted to be thought well of and we enjoyed when we did something that was praised - but we didn’t need attention to this pathological extent.

One of my favorite activities when I could find two drivers who would participate was to climb out of the window of one car and into the window of another car, while doing 75 on the Interstate.
Males like a little excitement.

I remember when I was 11 a 12 year old boy named "Everett Knowles" lost his arm in a similar accident near Boston. He had hopped a freight train. He was the first person to have a limb reattached. Moral of the story -- kids never learn anything.

I don’t want anyone to die but I can’t value someone else’s life more than they apparently do. Excellent perspective.

I dispute the term “tragic”. I had to check to see that this wasn’t a link to NYT.

I guess he mistook the roof of a speeding train for a sidewalk. He should have been situationally aware, I guess.

It looks more fun than elevator surfing.
It looks like riding sandworms in Dune.
It seems sort of noble and glamorous.
Fantasy world.
