-—the longer the oil is used? Way the heck back in the 80’s there was some serious flaparooney about fast food peddlers using their deep fryer oil way too long hen using it to patch potholes and other dumb stuff. I’ve never trusted any fast food stuff anyway but that series of incidents and lawsuits kept me way away.

My local grocery store has a deli that knocks out deep fried chicken. Walking by, it smelled pretty good, so I kept track of them for awhile. They were being plumb religious about rotating the oil so I gave them a shot. Spotted lard bricks in the kitchen so thot they had it together. Pretty yummy stuff so I get a bag every now and then.

I buy from a grocery supply outfit and they stock lard bricks in bigaxx piles. So It’s still in fashion for somebody at least.

Lard makes great biscuits ..
I’m looking for a good source for beef tallow.

I quit using vegetable oil about 18 months ago - just butter and olive oil presently.

I was gob-smacked recently at the grocery store to see, while I was shopping for olive oil, rendered bacon fat for sale.
