When I was a kid, I loved going out and getting candy on that last day of October. I had no idea what it really was. Exactly. And, I assume, you do not worship satan. So what's the harm?

If the media tells us satanic sacrifice of children doesn’t exist, then isn’t it reasonable to conclude it does in fact exist?

When I was a kid eons ago, Halloween was a lot different. Most costumes were homemade, but there were cheap costumes that fell apart after one night. Most of the houses that had a lit pumpkin on the steps were the ones that opened their doors and gave you coins, or a candy bar, or maybe a candied apple on a stick. There weren’t many decorations, not like today, but some homemade witches and other objects scattered here and there.

“ The “witches” at Salem weren’t real witches”
You are correct as to most of the victims. It was mainly about using the courts and government to steal property. And even preachers fighting over congregations.
But it started with Tituba, who very much was a pagan and practicing pagan worship and rituals.

The trick of the devil is to get people to do his bidding without knowing what they’re doing.

Street level trick-or-treating was effectively ended. Yes its sad, but now I get to keep all the candy for myself!

Conrad Dippel (sp?), the Baron Frankenstein was a weird dude.

The only fun part was dropping M-80s into jack-o-lanterns.

No you haven’t. All those stories were proven to be BS. You met people who LIED. And you believed them. It is not something that really happened.

Sure. There are good people. And there are bad people. The big difference between then and now is a lot of the stuff that was considered “good” then was EVIL.
It’s not subtle shading. It’s the fact that when you look at those old movies and TV shows you WILL see spousal abuse. And you will see it presented as a joke. One of the first running gag lines in the history of TV, “to the moon Alice”, is a threat of violence against his wife. That’s abuse. That’s NOT treating women better than today.

I have no idea.
But you’ve heard of it now. If you are a Protestant it is Reformation Day and should be your third biggest holiday after Christmas and Easter

The media were the guys pushing that BS, because it got good ratings. Eventually, years later, and hardly covered, it was all shown to be lies. ALL LIES.

Quite a few 12 foot skeletons around here. I think they sell them at Home Depot. There’s a guy two neighborhoods over who keeps his up all year long. I’ll bet his neighbors love that! I've seen those abominations around, too.

Death is part of life. We are all on the Grim Reaper’s list. To spend your whole life avoiding inevitable reality is folly. Why are you making up stuff that reasonisfaith never said and responding to that?
Nobody said a thing about avoiding inevitable reality.
What the objection is is to making light of it and the demonic influences associated with it and CELEBRATING death, like a bunch of leftists would.

When I was growing up, at a time when California was still a red state, Halloween was strictly a kid’s holiday. When we outgrew trick-or-treating, we would do things to scare trick-or-treaters such as setting up contraptions that would make it look as though ghosts were flying around our house.I remember it that way too. In the '50s and '60s one quit doing trick or treating by age 11 or so. Now we have 18 and 19 year olds coming to the door, I give them nothing.
