Sadly, I never got to see the Grateful Dead. But I love their music and I read Phil's book.

“ Sadly, I never got to see the Grateful Dead.”

That’s lucky.

I only attended 33 Grateful Dead concerts and I am crying right now. I love you Phil.

Sad. That guy was dominant w/o minimizing the others in any way.

I did see them once.

Another time I went but only stayed in the parking lot.

Not and never a fan. More the opposite.

Knew a lot of dead heads. Poor souls.

They have their own Sirius/XM station and I am continually drawn to it. The bass line is what keeps me so alert while driving.

I attended a half dozen or so, all between ‘82-‘87. Often found myself focusing just on Lesh’s bass lines. “The Phil Zone.” He was a very unique musician.

Saw them once and was not happy. The auditorium smelled of pot and I was horrified. Much better to listen to a recording in a clean environment.

Those Dead Heads were the precursor to the homeless encampments. At least they had a purpose.

I ‘m so Grateful for the years I spent experiencing Phil, and the band. ‘Such a long, long time to be gone, and a short time to be there....’

I’m so sorry to hear this. I actually knew him a little bit. I used to work in a café cooking breakfast in San Rafael, California in the late 70s and early 80s and Phil used to come in for breakfast every day he was in town. There was a waitress who also worked there, a friend of mine, very nice and happy girl. Her name was Jill. He asked for her to serve him breakfast every day, and she ended up marrying him and having his children and they have been together to this day.

Astute observation.
