Grammy-award winning Jack Jones, who sang the iconic Love Boat theme song, has died at age 86.

The singer and actor passed Wednesday night, his family announced, according to KESQ.

In addition to the Love Boat theme song, Jones has also released the popular tracks Wives and Lovers and Lollipops and Roses.

Jones earned two Grammy awards during his career and made frequent appearance on variety shows throughout the 60s and 70s, according to KESQ.

On top of singing, Jones was also an actor with credits in 1982's Airplane II: The Sequel and 2013's American Hustle.

A long time resident of the Coachella Valley, Jones received a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars in 2003.

'Because of The Love Boat theme, everything was great on ships after that,' he told Las Vegas Magazine during a 2016 interview. 'I did six weeks a year. They gave me the best suite on the ship, and it was the S.S. Norway. We just had a great time.'

Showbusiness ran in Jones' blood - his mother Irene Hervey was an actress with decades of film and TV experience, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She was even nominated for an Emmy.

Jones' father, Allan Jones, was also an actor and singer behind the track The Donkey Serenade.

The Love Boat song was released as a single by Jones in 1979, according to THR.

And the singer didn't mind poking fun at the love song from time to time - in Airplane II: The Sequel, he briefly appeared as a lounge singer performing the track.

I actually saw him perform at the National Memorial Day Concert in 1998 on the south lawn of the Capitol. It was great- he sang all these WWII songs.

I just did a search on the doc from the Love Boat. Bernie Kopell is still alive 91 years old. I wonder if Issac is still alive?

He also sang in an iconic commercial for Chrysler New Yorker in the mid 70’s.

My parents played the Jack Jones’ “The In Crowd” album all the time.

I have his version of “You’ve Got Your Troubles” on my playlist. I love the lady backup singers on that one. Much better than the Fortunes’ version.

I hear him on Sirius radio all the time.

Jones was primarily a straight-pop singer (even when he recorded contemporary material) whose forays into jazz were mostly of the big-band/swing variety. He won two Grammy Awards and has received a total of five nominations.

As you said, one of the last greats. I hate to see them go.

RIP, Jack Jones.

I used to really cringe every time I had to sit through this guy singing any songs on any of the variety shows back in the 60s and 70s. It seemed like he was on them incessantly.

Really really not my style. That being said sorry to hear this and RIP.

He is at my house. When anyone's going to the frig I just yell "Hey Issac!!" and they bring me a beer.

I loved listening to the Grandy and Andy show in the morning. I don’t know why they canceled it. It was great and I’m sure had good ratings.

When Princess ships set sail, the big horn plays part of The Love Boat theme.
