I saw the video and listened to the media narrative claiming that Trump was mocking a reporter’s handicap. Accompanying the narrative was a still photo of the handicapped reporter next to Trump’s hands and wrist.

What caused the media onslaught? I believed the force applied by the media had a back-story. What brought out the media's big guns? As Paul Harvey would say, “The Rest of the Story”. What made this an issue? Why would he mock a person’s handicap?

My conclusion is this.

1 - Trump said that he saw reports of people celebrating the 9/11 attack.

2 - The Washington Post newspaper accused Trump of lying by asserting there were no such reports.

3 - Trump’s reaction was to locate an article reporting people celebrating the 9/11 attack, ironically published by the Washington Post, the very entity that accused Trump of lying. The reporter in question wrote the article published by the Washington Post.

4 – The media orchestras and presented a deceitful narrative

Compare the words Trump is saying with the media narrative of what he saying and doing. The media narrative focuses on his arm movements instead of his words. Trump’s words are mocking the reporter’s poor memory, not the reporter’s handicap.

I paid attention when it originally happened and therefore know that it was totally fake news.

To the point, the reporter's handicap does not allow him to flail his arms around in the exaggerated way Donald Trump moved them.   He didn't even know that the reporter was handicapped.   Donald Trump was mimicating a reporter flailing around attempting to disavow his previous writing.
