A first for me. (vanity)
self

Posted on 10/23/2024 7:06:16 AM PDT by eastexsteve

My wife and I went to vote early yesterday in my east Texas town, and it was a first for us. We have never had to stand in line to vote - ever. And, the line was long and full of people I know are republicans. I hope this is an indicator or the outcome. But, as I always say, winning the vote is one thing. Actually getting sworn in is another.

A long line of Republicans waiting to vote in Texas will have the same effect on the Presidential election as a long line of Democrats waiting to vote in New York.

The hope is that heavy R turnout it will happen in all states, and that looks likely. Will Dem fear turn out more than R anger? That’s the question. Hysterical Dems have held the presidency for 12 of the last 16 years and they are more upset than ever.

Trump won in 2016 based on the power of rejection. (rejecting the establishment)

Biden won in 2020 based on the power of rejection. (rejecting the orange boogeyman)

Trump wins in 2024 based on the power of rejection. (rejecting abysmal inflation in border policy)

The ‘rejection’ group are not mostly independents. They are the members of the parties that sit out most elections until the get FED UP

There are no Democrats in East Texas. It is 99% Republicans.

"Biden won in 2020 based on the power of rejection. (rejecting the orange boogeyman)"

Biden didn't win, and everyone knows it.

Not trying to harsh your buzz but Republicans voting early (and they are) just gives Democrats a number of votes they need to print out and steal the election. They use our sense of patriotism against us.

But, if it's like this all over Texas, it has got to affect the overall popular vote.

If you run for office in Morris county and are not a D you will not win. It has had a D sheriff and others for decades, but I think it is name only most are fairly conservative and church goers.

I am hoping they printed early and Biden gets a million votes around the country.

Remember—just because they are evil does not mean they are smart.

Biden won in 2020 based on the power of rejection.

Nope. Fraud. Pure and simple.

Long line this morning for us here in Central Texas. Usually no more than 10 people waiting outside the past 6 years. Today, at least 40 in line and slightly more outside when I left after voting. My understanding from some in line is that they attempted to vote the past two days, only to find cars lined up into the streets outside the parking lot of the precinct/library.

I can't tell who is showing up. A small-ish city of about 85,000 residents (and growing). Sadly, they can't be bothered during the mid-terms and off-cycle voting. So, thanks to the 9% turnout in a May vote a few years back, we're stuck paying for a metro rail system that carries few passengers, but it does a bang-up job of screwing up traffic light patterns throughout the city.

Three women were doing the check-in at the precinct. Two were black. So, I am going to stereotype and say that sucks. Seems white people can't be bothered to deal with precinct work.

Believe it or not there are many more elections up for grabs.
And many of these have tremendous impact on daily lives. The amount of money Soros and other dark money pouring into Texas is greater than many nations GDP.
If Soros etc can get locals like DAs Schoolboards City and County people. Judges etc elected it could change our state

SO yes it IS important that Republicans are voting.

Thank you steve for voting

I tend to agree. The only thing I hope is that there will be enough pissed off people that they will do something about it this time.

Then, why are Trump, Trump Jr and Elon pushing for it?

I get that. And I don’t care what Bill Barr says, because “widespread” is easily definable as widespread when it happens in many jurisdictions, even if it’s not pervasive.

However, I was speaking towards that’s going to be the difference maker in each of the elections. The rejection element. It’s the most powerful motivator of the groups of people who wont otherwise go to the polls, and I repeat, these people are mostly NOT “independents”. The are party voters who sit on their hands until things get bad enough.

It helps tell the Democrats how many votes to fake.

Thank you for the post. And always good news. People will say Texas wasn’t at risk for Trump. But those state and local races MATTER! That is where a tremendous amount of damage to the nation is done.

I doubt it will help them in Texas, at least with the larger scale races. Small local races could be a different matter, but one would have to think Paxton is keeping a close eye on matters.

This wasn't my first time to vote. It was my first time ever in the decades I've voted here to encounter a waiting line.
