McDonald's shares dropped in extended trading Tuesday after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said an E. coli outbreak linked to McDonald's Quarter Pounder burgers has led to 10 hospitalizations and one death.
The agency said 49 cases have been reported in 10 states from Sept. 27 to Oct. 11, with most of the illnesses in Colorado and Nebraska. "Most" sick people reported eating a McDonald's Quarter Pounder, the CDC added.
One of the patients developed hemolytic uremic syndrome, which is a serious condition that can cause kidney failure. An older adult in Colorado died.
McDonald's shares dropped about 9% in after-hours trading Tuesday.

Yeah.....THAT’s the ticket!
I’m surprised that they couldn’t fins a wy to somehow blame Trump for the E-Coli cases.
If you can’t trust the CDC....
Excellent history lesson.
Thanks for posting that.
I consider myself pretty well read and knowledgeable when it comes to history and politics and current events, but that history slipped by me.
I can’t stand Jimmy Carter. He was a scumbag from the beginning.
No it’s the truth.
You need multiple cases before you know you have an outbreak and then need to figure out what the infected did that was common.
Gee why can’t they announce an outbreaks source the second one case shows up?
Eye roll
Same here. They’re evil, but they’re not smart and they think we’re all like that.
No recalls, though, per the CDC.
Go figure.
I would have been more worried about chemical poisoning from eating a burger at McDonald’s. That stuff does not taste real.
Even without contamination, that “food” should be avoided.
I have my doubts.
I saw a headline this morning about Senators wanting McDonald’s investigated for price gouging because they have raised their prices in the last few years more than their competitors.
I am not a fan of McDonalds. Nevertheless, does anybody else think it strange that this comes on the heels of Trump working there? Think somebody is trying to punish McDs?
It is such a severe public health threat it took them nearly two weeks to announce it. Interesting timing assholes.
