I had heard Cherries help so I took cherry extract every day for a while. No dice. It didn’t work. I haven’t found anything that has worked. In the last 6 months I’ve severely cut back on all booze especially beer. Its not like I drank a lot before but now I’ve had less than a 6 pack total in the last 9 months. *grumble*.
If that doesn’t work I’ll probably need to go get a prescription for alluprinol.
I hear you. That’s what I’m trying not to do - another Rx. From what I’ve read, I don’t think I have it too bad. I don’t drink much beer at all - but red wine, yes.
That doesn’t seem to bother me but I’ve noticed now that whiskey is a no-go. But food flare ups are pretty obvious to me.
Cherries and citrus bergamot capsule reduce the frequency but it is a long time before you can tell. I tell everyone keep a 6 oz can of pineapple juice close and drain it as soon as you get a flareup. It is immediate.
be diligently on the lookout for “alluprinol rash”: an occurrence can presage a deadly side-effect and one should cease alluprinol immediately ...

I was not that fond of sardines, but I ate them on cottage cheese for lunches and it helped me to lose weight. No big loss. Not a big beer drinker at this point and I only have to buy beer once or twice a month.
I am also drinking soda water at this point too and supplement with tart cherry (Which also has melatonin so I take it before bed.)
