Donald Trump, the US presidential candidate from the Republican party, said that he threatened Russian President Vladimir Putin with striking Moscow in the event of an attack on Ukraine. Trump stated this in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
"I said. ‘Vladimir, if you pursue Ukraine, I will hit you so hard you won't even believe it. I'm going to hit you right in the center of freaking Moscow. I said, 'We’re friends. I don’t want to do it, but I have no choice,’" Trump said in the interview.
According to Trump, Putin responded by saying, "No way."
“I said, 'Way.' I said, 'You’re going to be hit so hard, and I’m going to take those domes right off your head.' Because, you know, he lives under the domes," Trump added.

Weekend Interview: Trump Tangles With the Journal's Editors
President Trump said it himself in the Wall Street Journal.
I do know that Donald Trump wanted to let Kim Jong-Un know that he had the ‘bigger button’ when it came to launching missiles.
Let’s see. If I remember correctly that Ukraine once possessed nuclear weapons and the US and Russia talked them into giving them up on the promise that if needed the US and Russia would protect Ukraine ... what happened to that promise?
An OPINION piece in the Wall Street Journal.
And now for any other US news source, or perhaps even a video clip of Trump saying the reported quote...
WSJ title --- "Trump Tangles With the Journal's Editors"
When the WSJ says it "tangles" with Trump, one may take them at the 'opinion' word -- Taranto tangles with Trump. Note that the article is properly identified by the WSJ as "opinion." A Taranto opinion.
Opinion Journal: The 'Trump Is Crazy' Thesis Taranto interviewed re: Trump, 2016.
You must hold an opinion something like Taranto's, to promote him and his opinion.
Vote Trump in 2024to topple the corruption of the Democrats and begin to topple the massive administrative state.

“If I remember right, at one time Ukraine had nuclear weapons and the US and Russia talked them into giving them up “
No... that is the pop culture story. But Ukraine never had any. Some Soviet nukes, controlled by Moscow physically existed there when the USSR ended. But they were never owned, commanded or operated by Ukraine. They were removed rather than allowing them to get handed over to Kiev. Today is probably why.
The Ukrainian military never had a commander of nuclear forces. Kiev had zero operational control because they did not own them. And that security guarantee was for non-aligned military status.
But in any case, those agreements were dead when the nazi coup took over the Ukrainian government. The Uke government ended in violent over throw, and now a new one is there. They don’t inherit everything the old government had.

Are you calling President Trump a liar in his interview with the Wall Street Journal? His own words are a lie?
Zelenskyy meets Biden, Harris amid Republican allegation of election interference
Trump blames Ukraine's Zelenskiy for starting war with Russia
Nice try. No cigar.
I am suggesting the WSJ "tangled" with Trump, Taranto includes this without a source himself, and the Armenia news does the "Pelosi warp up smear."
Let's have video of Trump saying these words, shall we? Prove by other than an opinion piece by a never Trumper those words are reliably sourced.
You do know that Trump met with the head of the Taliban, showed him an aerial photo of his house, told him if one more US soldier got killed he would blow the house to kingdom come with everybody in it then walked out of the room.
Trust me Putin does not want the wrath of the most powerful person in the world anymore than the Taliban or Kim Jon Un.
There are three warlords in the world that count. Trump, Xi and Putin. The other two are far less powerful than the first. Don’t let anybody gaslight you about the power of the United States. Everyone looks to us.
You do not need to convince me or my bride to vote for Trump. That is a certainty.
Back to the notion of a never-Trumper in a media source which "tangles" with Trump by their own words....
Do we disagree on this?
I have every faith that Trump would say something like that to Vladimir Putin. I have zero reason to doubt it. Trump knows how the big dog talks to the lesser dog.
Trump’s remarks coming up now Seem timely as he will shortly be sorting out the Russian-Ukraine conflict. He’s likely going to be “suggesting” terms of peace to both parties.
Taranto's version of remarks. Were we opposing counsel in a trial, "something like that" would not be a sensible strategy.
I "testify" that my bride and I are voting for Trump. I am rather sure that you and yours are. Perhaps marcusmaximus, though I have little sense of that from his lack of clear statements to that effect. But I wager Taranto and some of the WSJ editors are Harris-Walz advocates, even if "Republican" in the way that Liz Cheney is "Republican."
Trump, appearing in many places each day and throughout the media is perhaps among the most recorded individuals in this time. Certainly asking for verification about a Taranto opinion -- as stated explicitly by WSJ -- is not out of order. Except to a never-Trumper.
So I add in bold letters to this thread, trusting you agree....
Vote Trump in 2024 to throw the corrupt Democrats out of the oval office.
Trump never, ever would have or allowed anyone in his administration to tease NATO membership for Ukraine. He wouldn't have agreed to fund an Ukrainian offensive in Donbass.
So, there would have been no reason for Putin or Russia to take military action.
Trump, among the most recorded individuals on the public stage today, isn't sourced by an original video, audio or other source than Taranto. So, yeah. Italics and bold is the argument. See how that works?
