Former Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was arrested Thursday in Tennessee for allegedly driving intoxicated and allegedly offered the other driver he rear-ended $2,000.
Officers responded to the 200 block of Bridge Street at around 5 p.m. in Franklin, Tennessee on the report of a minor traffic collision involving two vehicles.
Cutler, 41, allegedly rear-ended another vehicle and was slurring his words with blood shot eyes, according to police. He initially told police he did not consume any alcohol and then said he had “a little bit” when questioned further, documents obtained by WGN News state.
He refused field sobriety tests and was taken to a hospital where a blood sample was taken through a warrant.
Cutler had two firearms, a rifle and a loaded Glock pistol, located in his vehicle.
Cutler allegedly attempted to flee the scene after offering the other driver $2,000 to not call the police, documents state.

Trump supporter and election denier. Well, although he was drunk and with the clock running started the negotiations way too low, he at least has a grasp of the obvious. {:^)

Diabetic-type 1. Right? Should stay away from the sauce.

His ex-wife - TV Personality Kristin Cavallari - divorced him because, after retiring from football, he had no ambition to do any kind of productive work.
Cavallari is an ultra-energized, mother of three, workaholic.

Talk about someone who had it all and threw it all away. Well, he is a quarterback.

I’ll just say that there’s nothing wrong with offering the other driver cash rather than going through the insurance mess. It’s done all the time when it’s just a fender-bender. The article implies there’s something underhanded about this.I've resolved a couple of minor fender benders going this route. However, I don't just hand money over on the spot. I agree to pay a reasonable amount for repairs once the car has been looked at by a mechanic. I wish more people would take that approach with minor accidents as it would help keep insurance rates down for everybody else (especially in states with no-fault insurance).
I think in this case, the $2,000 offered was more to keep the police from coming and finding out he was drunk.

His wife dumped him after he retired and didn’t want to make their life a reality show. That woman used the opposite excuse as Gisele did.

This is in downtown Franklin. 2 lane road. It’s 35 mph speed limit so he must not have paid attention.

Re: "Then he goes to the NFL, where for the first time he has to deal with adversity and he can't handle it."
He played 12 seasons. Drafted #11 in First Round. Had the strongest throwing arm in his Draft Class.
Rookie contract was $48 million.
The Miami Dolphins coaxed him back from retirement for $10 million for one season after their QB had a season ending injury.

I think it’s illegal to have a loaded weapon in your possession if you’re intoxicated. There would also be questions about why he had a rifle when he wasn’t hunting, going to the range, going to a gunsmith, etc.
