Is Israel using 'surrender or starve' strategy in Gaza?
DW ^ | Oct 15 | Tania Krämer | Hazem Balousha

Israel's latest offensive has raised concerns that the country is implementing a "surrender or starve" plan to push Hamas out of northern Gaza. Many residents there are being forcibly displaced.

The Israeli military's latest invasion of Jabaliya in northern Gaza could not be more catastrophic for residents, who have already endured the bombardments and hardship of the Israel-Hamas war, now in its second year.

"It's dangerous here. Nobody can move. It's risky and unsafe. They asked us to leave, but there was no time. All of a sudden, the area was surrounded and under fire," said Mohammed, who didn't want to give his last name, by phone.

Almost two weeks ago, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a new ground offensive in the Jabaliya refugee camp in northern Gaza and ordered people to leave the area — once again. The IDF said intelligence showed efforts by Hamas, the militant group that runs the enclave, to reestablish itself and regroup in the area.

Palestinians and the United Nations fear that the latest invasion is part of a wider implementation of a "surrender or starve" strategy by Israel to forcibly displace northern residents and seal off northern Gaza, plans Israel denies.

"The Israeli military appears to be cutting off North Gaza completely from the rest of the Gaza Strip," the UN Human Rights Office said in a statement.

What do you think of this?

The Biden admin. wrote a letter saying they have 30 days to stop this and send in more aid or military support will be reduced.

Right in the middle of the Election!

If Hamas were to surrender there would be no more problem.

That's the only way this ends.

>>the country is implementing a “surrender or starve” plan to push Hamas out of northern Gaza.

And why exactly is that bad?

I know support for Israel is unwavering here but I dont like this if that’s what they’re doing . It’s against a lot of convention .

The laws of war if you will..

Haven’t Gazan “civilians” complained that remaining Hamas fighters beat them with sticks whenever they try to leave?

No.

Israel is providing more than enough food for Gaza. Medical supplies, cigarettes, and electricity, too. Feminine hygiene. Condoms. Everything.

What is happening is Hamas steals it and either keeps it for itself or extorts the populations with it.

The only way to help Gaza is to kill everyone in Hamas.

The laws of war if you will..

The "laws of war" apply only if both sides abide by them. Clearly Hamas/Gaza/Palestinians or whatever they call themselves don't do that.

Plus, Israel is dealing with a societal issue. The terrorist leaders exist because the people want them to.

As an example outside the Middle East, World War 2 happened because not enough average Joe German civilians died in WW1 because the Allies didn't bring the war to the German homeland. Want to know why Germany hasn't started WW3? Because the Allies in WW2 made sure the Germans also lost civilian lives by bringing the war to Germany. The same for Japan learning to quit starting wars. Nobody has taught that lesson to the jihadist nations.

HAMAS must not survive this war.

If they do it only guarantees the next war. This time under much worse circumstances.

This analysis is kind of off.

The IDF is using a fight the enemy where they are strategy with a Hamas insurgency that is indistinguishable from the general population of Gaza and moves covertly with them

The IDF clear out Gaza “civilians” (if there is such a thing) out an area to fight Hamas and many Hamas terrorists exfiltrate with the “civilians”

After the area is cleared out , the IDF lets the Gaza “civilians” back into the area and the Hamas terrorists infiltrate back into the area along with the population.

This becomes an endless rinse and repeat cyclic process of taking areas to eliminate Hamas, leaving once they are finished only to watch Hamas re occupy the areas under the guise of civilian re repatriation.

The IDF strategy here is to exhaust Hamas and run them out of weapons and ammunition until they can no longer fight now that the Rafah smuggling tunnels are largely shut down and Hamas cannot re supply.

Once that the Gaza has been effectively de militarized by the process of depleting their weapons reserves, the Gaza will be run by non Gaza, non Hamas entity that will demilitarize the areas and prevent the rebuilding of the tunnels and the rest of the Hamas terror state.

So surrender. These A-hole Palestinians have been on a murderous binge for over 50 years. The barbaric orgy of rape, torture, sexual mutilation and murder on October 7th was the last straw.

The expected a retaliatory air raid or two. What they got is full on war. We didn’t feed Germans, Japs, VC, or North Koreans as we fought them.

Those scrotes can surrender or die. They lost all rights to mercy. They unleashed a full scale war and that is what they are getting.

#### em.

And I have REALLY given them slack in the past.

Tried to be open minded. Israel too.

They got repaid by having their women AND men raped by multiple, multiple animals.

Burned alive.

Whole families wiped out.

Sex slaves used...and they are being used day and night you can bet!!

The kids are taught from the womb to hate Israelis.

They are dumb enough to be the pawns of the RICH Arab countries.

So again, #### em.

BTW, we went ALL OUT in WWII. Remember the Dresdent bombing?

A couple atom bombs.

That attack last year was Israel’s Pearl Harbor in a way.

And just like we got to rock and roll...so should they.

You can’t deal or bargain or try to understand rabid animals.

Maybe you should read more about that day in October and what they did to those Israelis..of all ages.

Have a good one.

My view is that once the war ends, Gaza should be annexed by Israel. Gazans should be relocated to the West Bank.

Not going to happen, but it’s what should happen.

“but I dont like this if that’s what they’re doing “

Awwww... got sand in your panties? Exactly what would you have the Israelis do? Hamas has taken over the “refugee camps” (which by the way are filled with people who fully support them without reservation)
Do you let Hamas keep running things and send a bunch of food and supplies in?

Why is all your wailing and pearl clutching not directed at the Palestinian soldiers embedding in those camps and endangering the refugees?

The tactic is a siege. Hamascide is made difficult by hostages. Gradual infiltration and selective one by one deaths will end in the Hamas death

If the Pali trash wants food, let them give up the remaining leaders to be executed. It’s pretty simple really, the run of the mill Palitrash would rather starve.

The Palitrash is responsible for their own stqrvation

This line of thinking is why we were in Afghanistan for 20 years. Israel, however, made their enemies surrender in the 1948 war and 1967 war.

Surrender or starve.
Time tried strategy originally called siege.
Kind of like it, except I am sure, it is not what they tell us. Just it is another anti Israel propaganda.
