Brace Yourselves: A Tsunami Approaches [opinion]
The Rutherford Institute ^ | 10/15/2024 | John & Nisha Whitehead

Life is good in America as long as you’re able to keep sleep-walking through life, cocooning yourself in political fantasies that depict a world in which your party is always right and everyone else is wrong, and distracting yourself with bread-and-circus entertainment that bears no resemblance to reality.

Life is good in America as long as you don’t mind being made to pay through the nose for the government’s endless wars, subsidization of foreign nations, bloated workforce, secret agencies, fusion centers, private prisons, biometric databases, invasive technologies, arsenal of weapons, and every other budgetary line item that is contributing to the fast-growing wealth of the corporate elite at the expense of those who are barely making ends meet—that is, we the 99%.

Life is good in America for the privileged few, but as I make clear in my book Battlefield America: The War on the American People and in its fictional counterpart The Erik Blair Diaries, it’s getting worse by the day for the rest of us.

So, please spare me the media hysterics and the outrage and the hypocritical double standards of those whose moral conscience appears to be largely dictated by their political loyalties.

Anyone who believes that the injustices, cruelties and vicious callousness of the U.S. government are unique to any one particular administration has not been paying attention.

The excerpt is the final paragraphs. Worth the whole read.

After skimming it twice (on my way out the door), I agree 100%. They nail it.

Even if more of The Rutherford Institute's posts aren't related here, I've bookmarked the site.

Freedom is going to cost each and everyone of us.

Are we going to pay the price?

And if you don’t put in your buck-oh-five, who will?

I would argue the language - for me - differs:

Are ‘they’ willing to pay the price?

I - and others - took an oath. They ought be scared to death.

The corollary question:

Are WE willing to take action before it’s too late?

“No dumb bastard ever won a war by going out and dying for his country. He won it by making some other dumb bastard die for his country.”

Wouldn’t argue with you.

The cost of freedom is that you most often don’t get to experience it or even know that is was obtained. Your posterity do.

Excellent find, thank you.

“Anyone who believes that the injustices, cruelties and vicious callousness of the U.S. government are unique to any one particular administration has not been paying attention.”

Absolutely, because this is not local, this is Global. Our government is just a subcontractor to the parent corporation.

Exactly. Take it to them, bomb them out of existence (and with the weapons we have now, not a challenge to have it be a solely air campaign).
And fly home.
GAME OVER.

Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose.

I firmly think our Founding Fathers understood that. They saw it coming and didn’t wait for it to happen.

Folks, The libs have already destroyed your wealth.

That FR has to beg for money, says we maynot be there yet.

“So, please spare me the media hysterics and the outrage and the hypocritical double standards of those whose moral conscience appears to be largely dictated by their political loyalties.”

This guy has it backwards. It’s your morals that dictate your political affinity.

You choose the political party that most ckesly serve your interests, and morals are a big part of your interests.

Americaa is finished. Twenty years ago I saw what was happening all over the place et and felt were okay here in America. Now that shi’ite is happening here where Venezuelan gangs are murdering Americans in the heartland. And NOTHING is being done about it. Libs consider it the “cost of doing business” since the illegals will be voting Democrat, yielding a single state government like Californicate. We’re finished… just a matter of time. Not even Trump can save the Republic.

Leftist, when specifically asked if the government is too powerful will agree that it is. And then they vote to give the government even more power.

History may not repeat but it does rhyme rather well:

“What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, little by little, to being governed by surprise; to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if the people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security... And all the crises and reforms (real reforms, too) so occupied the people that they did not see the slow motion underneath, of the whole process of government growing remoter and remoter.”—Historian Milton Mayer, They Thought They Were Free: The Germans, 1933-45

Maybe not a fan of Rutherford Institute, don't know that much about them, but this opinion piece is one I can agree with much of.

So long as the deep state can keep us at each other's throats they are safe. They can win a Civil War by picking the side that best supports them and defeat the other. They probably can't survive a Revolution with themselves as the target. Unfortunately, the Civil War probably follows their defeat. A common enemy does not necessarily result in common principles.

Earl Butz was right but his group was wrongly limited; Lose, Tight and Warm are all most of the sheeple crave. They are long on comfort, fear, greed and envy and very short on Principles.

"So you can try to persuade yourself that you are free, that you still live in a country that values freedom, and that it is not too late to make America great again, but to anyone who has been paying attention to America’s decline over the past century, it will be just another lie."

[break]

"In a nutshell, life was good because their creature comforts remained undiminished, their bank accounts remained flush, and they weren’t being discriminated against, persecuted, starved, beaten, shot, stripped, jailed and turned into slave labor."

The Patriot Act was supposed to be only temporary. It wasn't of course. Some of us knew that way in advance. A government big enough to do everything for you and protect you from all perceived risk is still one big enough to take everything from you and it will. A life without any risk is one that can also steal all of your discovery, excitement, pleasure and even growth.

I wonder what kind of people execute the will of the deep state? What kind of people raid the home of an Airport Administrator in Little Rock for unknown and still unclear reasons and shoot him in the forehead, dead in front of his wife at 6 in the morning then keep her in the cold outside for hours in her front yard in her night gown? What kind of people do the will of persecutors of anyone who even thinks to stand in the way of their handlers? What kind of people were the Brown Shirts?

Most politicians are in it for the adoration and the money and referred power without understanding it is mostly only referred. The few that are in it against the deep state are the true enemies. Any others are just useful idiots no matter which party they are from.

Yes.

Given your comment on PA (as cited above), you may be keen as to what the Awan Bros scandal really represented (most are not).
