“Depends what you mean by “Keto”.

Agreed, there are many different diets based upon the term keto. I gave up a site at the U of Chicago. Another site is this:

https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/should-you-try-the-keto-diet

There are many more but I hate to get into an argument with people I don’t know. I don’t learn anythng from them. I always cringe when someone asked about keto on the FR because it has been a topic of discussion sometimes pushing to people disagreeing in more than humane terms. I am not a doctor but I was educated at Cooper Institute as a trainer for the military. So I have enough information in my books to get an understanding of a little more than people’s “what they heard.”

https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-cooper-institute

I used the Harris benedict scale for consumption before I retired which is what many military trainers use very often because it takes into effect physical training:

In men, the Harris-Benedict equation formula used was:

BMR=66.4730 + 13.7516 x weight in kg + 5.0033 x height in cm – 6.7550 x age in years.

In women:

BMR=655.0955 + 9.5634 x weight in kg + 1.8496 x height in cm – 4.6756 x age in years.

But to my knowledge, to lose weight effectively while continuing sound body function takes a lot more than just cutting out fuel to force the body to use stored fat. And according to many medical facilities, three I have shown now, there are possible problems attached to it.

Good luck,

Nope. It is with you. First: I fought my weight for 45 years, including all my 25 years in the military. Using the low fat diets pushed by nutritionists and dieticians and the establishment health experts who have overseen Americans becoming obese in huge numbers.

If their advice works, why has America become sicker?

I was on blood pressure medication halfway thru my military career. Now I’m off it - lower blood pressure at 67 than at 40.

Yes, I DO oppose the medical establishment. I went Keto before COVID hit, which greatly improved my health before the COVID year of fear porn - with the US government and places like “University of Chicago medicine” pushing masks and vaccines and bad health.

“University of Chicago medicine” continues to push all vaccines, per CDC recommendations. Pushes statins. Pushes anything approved by the US government in spite of a 50-60 year track record of failure.

And YOU are gullible enough to fall for it. Hook, line and sinker. While backing their BS in the face of overwhelming evidence.

Because this is NOT something honest people can have different conclusions about. Keto is not some radical idea never tried or tested. Millions are doing it for life. People who have never struggled with weight don’t need it. Those of us who have struggled can find victory. But not by listening to the CDC, FDA, USDA or University of Chicago medicine!

“Nope. It is with you.”

Now you’re just trolling. As in the past, when people start calling me things like nonsensical or silly for having an opinion shared by many in the medical community, especially one that has such a varient approach, then you are not telling me something I didn’t already know and all you are doing is attacking the messenger. Send your complaints to organizations like Yale University Medicine, Prevention Research Center, University of Kansas Medical Center, The Mayo Clinic, The NIH, Northwestern University Medicine...and many more. If you have a spear to throw, do it at the experts. If you don’t like the information, you can talk to them about it. And not once did I call you anything for voicing your opinion. Be safe.

I fought my weight for 45 years, including all my 25 years in the military.

I arrived at Basic Training as a 17-year-old, lean at 6'1" and 195 pounds, but was immediately put on the "fat boy" program. Over the next 28 years, I struggled with my weight, constantly yo-yoing and receiving no valuable assistance from military medical personnel. They pushed low-fat, limited-meat diets that never helped me lower my weight, cholesterol, or blood pressure—all targets of their so-called assistance. I managed to get down to 183 pounds before OTS but barely made it through flight physically due to my borderline high blood pressure.

It wasn't until I retired and started a good regimen of exercise and diet through the VA that I saw real improvement.

I laugh when people think the military has weight loss and maintenance figured out. All they do is nag and punish.
