Lisa Marie Presley’s recently-published posthumous memoir, “From Here to the Great Unknown,” includes a stunning revelation: Presley aborted a child fathered by Danny Keough — a decision she said “destroyed” her.
In the memoir, Presley recounts that her first pregnancy with Keough ended because it was ectopic. She then got pregnant a second time, and neither she nor Keough knew what to do.
“I ended up having an abortion. And it was the stupidest thing I’ve ever done in my whole life. I was devastated,” Presley wrote. “I did it and we both cried. We were both destroyed and not long after that we fell apart and broke up. I couldn’t live with myself.”
In fact, the abortion haunted her so much that she “planned and plotted and schemed” to have another child with Keough as a sort of reparation for the one that had been aborted. (This is not an uncommon response among post-abortive women, and is sometimes referred to as an “atonement” baby.)
“I didn’t care if he wanted to be a part of it or not. I felt that I had to redeem, to make amends, because I still couldn’t believe I had had an abortion,” she wrote. “I thought, I’m going to have this child. There is a child I need to be having.”
She also recounts talking to her baby, apologizing for what she did, saying, “‘I’m so sorry, I can’t believe I f–king did that. Please forgive me and stay with me until I get pregnant again.'”
Presley had two other children with Keough — daughter Danielle Riley Keough and son Benjamin Keough. She also had two other daughters from her later marriage to Michael Lockwood — twins Finley and Harper.
Though many celebrities are outspoken in favor of abortion, there have been others like Presley who have experienced it firsthand and warn about its devastating impact. Singer Chilli of the Grammy-award winning band TLC has spoken about the grief and regret she experienced after aborting her preborn child.
“It messed me up,” she has previously said. “I don’t know; It just, it broke my spirit…” Like Presley, Chilli found herself longing for another pregnancy as a way to make amends for the child she had aborted.
Singer Kaya Jones of the Pussycat Dolls has also been outspoken about the regret she has from her multiple abortions. “You will regret it your whole life,” she has said. “Even if I become a mother tomorrow, and I’m happily married and all is well, I’m still going to regret the three children I did not have.”
Singer Nicki Minaj wrote a song about her abortion regret, with lyrics saying, “Please baby forgive me, mommy was young,” and “To conceive you then leave you, the concept alone seems evil, I’m trapped in my conscience, I adhered to the nonsense, listened to people who told me, I wasn’t ready for you.”
Though not often talked about, abortion trauma and regret are real, with 20% of women in one study found to be struggling with clinical depression after an abortion and 31% of women saying they would not choose to abort again. Multiple studies have shown that abortion significantly increases mental health risks (despite repeated denials from the pro-abortion medical community) with possible consequences including depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. Live Action’s Can’t Stay Silent campaign has shared dozens of stories from women who have experienced abortion and deeply regretted it so much that they have shared their stories in an effort to spare others from experiencing the same trauma.

Depression, addiction and suicide rates skyrocket after abortions.
I rarely thought about Lisa Marie during her life, but when I did, I often wondered why she broke up with Keough. He seemed like the most “normal” and grounded of any of Lisa’s men. Of course, compared to Michael Jackson, that guy named Lockwood (Mr.Funny-Hats) seemed normal, at least for a short while.
Abortion. The ultimate act of a woman not taking accountability for her actions. And that my friends is what the abortion thing is really all about. They can blame the child for getting pregnant. It’s not their fault. Is the child. Therefore the child needs to be punished. Therefore I can go on about my daily life. No accountability as usual from a woman. And when they start chanting and repeating my body my choice. I’m sorry but you gave up that when you supported Obamacare and a government run health system. So that argument is out the window. It’s all about, and always has been, no accountability for their actions.
. . .and sadly, the men who fathered the child also very often suffer emotional trauma from the abortion many years later as well, but no one EVER talks about them; it’s always about the women. As a woman, I have worked with Rachel’s Vineyard, which is an organization to help those who are suffering, and the stories of the men are heartbreaking as well.
Very common.
I know several women who suffered all their lives, regretting abortion.
Abortion is a very traumatic moment.
But, they claim it is NOT about abortion but “a woman’s right to choose”. So when are these women going to be held to the fire for their lack of control, their lack of knowledge regarding prevention, and their inability to say no to a man.
Lisa Marie turned a 100 million dollar inheritance into negative 10 million by the time of her death. She was a mess.
My complete disgust with Mz. Shrek grows by the second, and Karamela's losing is just ultimate schadenfreude, as there is ZERO chance either party will run another woman at the top of ticket before 2050. 0-for-2, baybeee! Buttgag would have a better chance of being the donkey (lol) nominee and losing to JDV, than another dumbass Democrat woman. Anyway...
The most lurid story was Lisa Marie keeping her son's coffin in the living room (they never said how they kept it chilled but Elvis liked Graceland ice cold) and inviting a tattoo artist over to view her son's tat by peering into the coffin, so she could get a duplicate.
I weep for all the women who were deceived.
My first child was stillborn at 42 weeks. I suffered with guilt because I had developed gestational diabetes after the point at which I was tested. I believed that my Christmas candy had killed my daughter. I kept sobbing, “But I didn’t know.”
That experience gave me new insight into just how terrible it is to lie about what abortion really is. How can these hurting women ever trust those who talked them into doing this heinous thing?
A pastor once said that a Christian can be prochoice. But God has a special warning for those who cause someone (”one of these little ones who believe in Me”) to sin. He says it would be better for them to have a millstone tied around their neck and be thrown into the sea. That is a very strong warning, and I believe God calls pastors to give that warning to people who tell vulnerable women that God is fine with them killing their children.
“Okra subtly played Riley for white trash every. single. moment.”
That is odd. I don’t watch much TV, but accidentally saw the whole interview. The concept of white trash never once entered my mind while watching it. That is about the only time I have ever watched Opray.
Sad, indeed.
Stevie Nicks still celebrates hers.
Truly. She and Naomi Judd, both with significant mental issues. Those problems do not need class, wealth or location.
Coke whores gonna coke whore.
God bless her and forgive her.
I’ve seen it with family. Atonement baby as well.
Disgusting that it is presented to women as a “right” to be celebrated rather than an agonizing, horrendous, and tragic evil act.
IMHO, every public proponent of abortion should be asked how many abortions she has had, and how old her children would be if she let them live.
I’m convinced participating in an abortion f**ks up the human mind, and we are entitled to know if someone is in that state when they are “arguing” for it politically.
Stevie Nicks shares her dysfunctional and delusional life with the world
Can’t listen to Fleetwood Mac anymore, knowing that Nicks cared more for her career than she did her own child.
