PHILADELPHIA, Wednesday, Oct. 12 -- 11 P.M.
From returns received up to this hour, the editors of FORNEY'S Press claim a Union majority of 3,000 to 5,000, although they say it is possible later returns may reduce it; but, from the appearance of the soldiers' vote, a gain of three Republicans in the Congressional delegation is considered probable.
The Age estimates from the returns received by them from 41 counties, a Democratic gain of 13,000. Twenty-five counties are yet to be heard from.
