Lane Thomas’ aggressive approach at the plate paid off again for the Cleveland Guardians in Game 5 of the ALDS on Saturday.
On the first pitch he saw from Detroit Tigers starter Tarik Skubal in the bottom of the fifth inning, Thomas blasted a grand slam to help the Guardians to a 7-3 victory and advance to the ALCS.
"He threw one pitch over the middle and I put a good swing on it. It's as simple as that," Thomas said afterward. "I don't know how many scoreless innings he threw [in the series], it just takes one."

As for play, I care not which collection of Leftists who knelt in support of Communist organizations such as Black Lives MatterTM wins the most advertising money.
Looks like the Cleveland Indians will be going back to guarding stuff.
The 1948 World Series was between the Cleveland Indians and Boston Braves, not the Dodgers.
Major Pro Teams with Indian names still left. Atlanta Braves, KC Chiefs, Chicago Blackhawks. The Seahawks and Canucks have west coast Indian art inspired logos if one is stretching things.

They beat the Boston Braves in 1948.
Saw it on TBS, he absolutely smoked that one
Congrats from a Tigers fan, but I will never use the G-word.
I agree. I’ll clutch my Chief Wahoo memorabilia while I watch the team that is named after some Art Deco on a bridge. A nice bridge though, the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge (aka the Hope Memorial Bridge, renamed after Bob Hope as well as William Henry Hope). The guardians are cool, but renaming the team after them is not.
