With big box retailers clamping down hard on retail theft, NYC's thieves who never seem to wind up in jail have turned their attention to a new target... the homes of the law abiding.
“Time to go gray, very gray.”
At my age, that’s the one thing I excel at.
NYC was the place to gray for a long time.
Trump is going to surprise a lot of folks with his NY vote totals.
Where do they keep the stuff they steal?
The video shows an Asian guy with a thick accent talking to the news guy.
Asian home invasions have been common in the San Francisco Bay Area for 30 or more years. It’s usually Asian gangs invading the homes of Asian residents. They know that they often keep large amounts of cash at home.
In the video you posted, the residents lost $20,000 cash to the burglars.
Who keeps $20,000 cash at home? Mostly Asians. And drug dealers.
I keep a 2007 toyota truck with 250K miles as my urban camoflouge vehicle. The wheel wells are rusted, its got scratches, dents and dings, a corner of back bumper has detached. But it still costs me very little to maintain, and no on messes with it.
Ahhhh. The beauty of a beater. I’m with ya’ brother.
Theives are using Wifi jammers. I had no idea those even existed and could be used against home wifi.
I heard the other day they are able to steal your car now, just by hijacking your wifi and downloading your license plate?!!
you should always keep a decent sum of cash/cash equivalents at home.
Banks are fine I guess, but you can be de-banked or have your accounts frozen at any time.
Who do you trust more with your money a Bank, Kamala, or yourself
if you are in florida right now, is your bank open ? what if you need to buy stuff
“Theives are using Wifi jammers.”
I’ve heard that. It cuts off home security communications. People are so evil
Jammers are supposedly illegal but what do thieves care?
“I heard the other day they are able to steal your car now, just by hijacking your wifi and downloading your license plate?!!”
I hear a lot of things on the internet, much of it is B.S.
I can 100% guarantee that none of my cars can be stolen in that manner.
What else did anyone expect?
It’s the inevitable result of soft on crime, defund the police policies.
The leftist’s goal is anarchy so they have an excuse to impose martial law and implement a national, government dictated police force. All for our own good, of course.
My daughter at one time owned a silver Toyota Corolla, which someone once described as the ultimate in urban camouflage.
And after that, I started noticing how many are actually on the road, and how many cars over all were silver.
In a civilized society, looters would be shot on sight, and their heads put on pikes in a public place, as a warning to the next ten generations that five-finger discounts come at too high a price.
Hey, I’ve got ApplePay, Zelle, four credit cards and one $20 bill in my wallet. I’m good.
Actually, oft times my wallet is completely empty and I forget to fill it up. A $300 ATM visit lasts about four months these days. Every merchant at the Farmers’ Market last Saturday accepted ApplePay. Only four years ago, I had to buy $50 of plastic tokens with my credit card when I entered the market. It was like their own scrip system. But that era is gone.
Seriously, you raise a good point. But I’m starting to see more places not accepting cash any more. But that would change quickly in a SHTF scenario.
Hard to cut off my 85 pound shepard and his associates Colt and Glock.
“if you are in florida right now, is your bank open ? what if you need to buy stuff”
cash
My local bank is headquartered in the path of the storm.
There are out-of-town friends and relatives with out-of-town bank and Amazon accounts.
My neighbors bank with USAA(US Army Association)? I believe.
Cash will always be king. If they won’t take cash, they don’t want my business.
