As I recall, Stalin executed nearly the entirety of the Soviet Union high command, because of the NAZI disinformation.
As I remember the story (from William Shirer's The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich) Stalin executed about one-third of his officer corps as a result of the NAZI's infiltration and subversion of the Red Army's coded communication system.
Mossad does everything with such style.
