NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Sedrick Alexander ran for two touchdowns, Randon Fontenette scored on a Pick-6 and Diego Pavia outplayed Heisman Trophy candidate Jalen Milroe as Vanderbilt stunned Alabama 40-35 Saturday for the Commodores' first win over the nation's top-ranked team.
Vanderbilt (3-2, 1-1) was 0-60 all-time vs. AP Top-5 teams before Saturday, the longest such streak in the Poll Era (since 1936). The Commodores hadn't beaten Alabama on the field in 40 years, but they snapped a 23-game skid by making big play after big play to give coach Clark Lea his alma mater's biggest win ever.

This is as good as the Mets win.

Cool. I always like to see "underdog" stories. Congratulations Commodores!

Alabama, Missouri and Rutgers all fell from the ranks of the undefeated today.
This was definitely a stunner but proves the Vandy week 1 victory over Va Tech was not a fluke.

That is why you have to play. Every game. To actually win.

"This was definitely a stunner but proves the Vandy week 1 victory over Va Tech was not a fluke." I agree. Vandy outplayed Alabama up and down the field the whole game...this was no accidental, fluke play/plays that won this game.
I'm a big Alabama fan.

Bama never led in this game, that’s what’s really shocking.

Jalen Milroe was streaky, as he always is. But what surprised me was the way Vandy had their way with the Bama defense.

The Kammumnist today declared she is the underdog. That is one underdog we don’t want to see winning.

Indiana may be the real surprise. I believe they’ve scored 40+ in all their games.
