A recent incident in the subway has prompted mass protests all over NYC regarding what some are calling 'heavy handed' tactics, while defenders of the nypd say their officers were in a very unfortunate 'no win' situation...

when your parents or grandparents or their predecessors came to USA, they were
1. checked for not having communicable diseases
2. checked for being terrorists.communists.whatever (the threat depending on the year, of course)
3. checked for self-sufficiency (or a private sponsor who would guarantee their needs) so that they didn’t become public charges on the welfare dole
there were some years when immigration from certain places was restricted (for perhaps good reasons, for perhaps less good reasons)
if an immigrant was admitted to USA, s/he was effectively “on probation” for (usually) usually 5 years, during which time they had to stay away from committing criminal or terrorist attacks
(or risk deportation, repatriation as well as possible imprisonment beforehand)
they could take a citizenship test, requiring basic knowledge of our system of governance
so... almost all legal immigrants...not all but almost all...from most countries....worked out pretty well.
but most immigrants WANTED to become Americans and to succeed here, become self-sufficient, self-supporting here, learn English and our way of life.
nowadays, with the Democrats’ Open Borders (and instant welfare benefits) policies, all these simple checks and balances are gone, tossed right out the window. We are getting flooded with (yes, some decent immigrants but also) millions of people who
1. do not want to become Americans
2. only wish our free ride welfare benefits
3. and for hundreds of thousands from Iran and Araby and other terrorist-nest Krapistans, only wish to attack America and American citizens FROM WITHIN our borders, our neighborhoods and communities
(witness our college campuses, Ann Arbor/Detroit, and so on)
basically, we have been SOLD OUT by the DNC political machine bosses and their puppets in office

even essentially-communistic Sweden is beginning to ship the terrorist cadres home to Arabia and Iran etcetera
but our D party apparachniks are now sending airplanes to recruit MORE of these (including venezuela commie types) into USA, flying straight over the border-without-meaningful-immigration-checks
a border fence won’t stop the problem anymore. anti-aircraft missiles will now be needed (and no, I am NOT advocating anything like that, just observing what a complete screwing the D party machine people have done to America)

I’m in Great Kills on Staten Islan right this minute and everything is great.
Beautiful streets, gardens, great restaurants, south shore is as safe as any othre place in the country, kids are playing and 300,000 Americans of Italian descent making sure it stays that way.
I'm from NYC too. What I mean is, everything that supports the dysfunction of America (printed money, massive debt, marxist,woke politics) is centered in, and magnifies the dysfunction of NY City
When America faces a true reckoning, places like NYC will be hardest hit.

Injecting 20,000 savages into a small town of 40,000 is a bit more than “try that in a small town”.
The video at the link is crap. It starts to tell you that it’s going to tell you something and then it creeps half way up on it then it jumps to something else then it repeats itself, two or three times, and it says “you are about to see . . .”, then it repeats itself again.
But all of this is a direct result of our Maginot Line "try that in a small town" mentality. We wait for the left to come after us, and when they do we're hung out to dry by others on our side who are also waiting for the left to go after them.
They will come after all of us if they win in 2024. When they do, it will already too late.
But there's football on today, so we'll worry about that later.

i am a constitutionalist and somewhat tend to libertarianism but there are a few things I am willing to compromise on,,,
giving some genuine help to Americans who have suffered a disasterous loss, giving some genuine help to those few Americans who have serious disabilities that preclude them from doing much work
these things SHOULD be done by the general government level, that is the states.. not the limited government federal level
but if they have to be done at the fed level, I cam live with it....provided they’re done honestly and effectively... but of course those are characteristics that the feds are not especially known for
