Many Americans may be unaware of the extent of the damage. Unlike Hurricane Katrina, which received non-stop coverage on cable news for weeks, with primetime anchors like Anderson Cooper visiting on location covering stories of human tragedy and government incompetence, Helene’s aftermath has received far less coverage. It is on social media platforms like X where folks will find horrifying stories of the stench of death still strong in difficult to reach areas, the lack of government assistance for those in need, and the courage of private efforts serving the area. Some of this is explained by the time period we are living in. Escalation in the Middle East. A national election is on the horizon. A court decision releasing documents that allows the salivating press to re-litigate the events of January 6th, 2020 yet again. What cannot be ignored, however, is the extent to which the open hostility to which the nation’s most powerful institutions have had to the sorts of people that are overwhelmingly impacted by this storm, predominantly white, working class, and politically conservative. This horrific natural disaster is a reminder of the extent to which the regime hates the people who live there.

Brian Williams saw bodies floating down the street in front of his hotel. The Super Dome had bodies piled up like cord wood in the basement. The Super Dome would never be used for events again and would need to be torn down. I remember all of that.

The Super Dome is still standing and the New Orleans Saints play there all the time. Was a Super Bowl there not long ago, the one where the lights went out for awhile.

Hard working people to restore Marshall NC- which will be quite a while. Note the active railroad track washed away by the French Broad River 24 miles NW of Asheville flooding from mountain run off streams/creeks overflowing from massive rain dumped by Helene. The scenes of the river ripping past the middle of Marshall just devastating.
Help the farmers who are bring in their crops (the ones they could save) to feed people who are without food, both volunteers/locals and people whose homes are gone. The GoFundMe account is to be used to pay for the crops the farmers bring in, AND to help farmers who lost everything— feed the farmers. Just outstanding, and FEMA may very well try to stop this occurring throwing their useless weight around and blocking people’s survival. If they can’t throw money at it— they will block it and be real a@@holes about it.

Do you remember a couple of days ago about a “story” that the community of Chimney Rock had bodies in the street and FEMA was taking everyone’s homes and kicking folks out so they could mine it all for lithium or some silliness like that?
Well this guy lives nearby Chimney Rock and had to walk into town because the roads were gone...he talked to the locals about that story and the answers will shock you! Needless to say its all bunk...but the video is nice and near the end he talks with a woman who was there during the height of it all...
