Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) and nine other members of the House Judiciary Committee signed a letter on Wednesday warning Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Dept. of Justice (DOJ) not to interfere with the release of the Inspector General’s Report on its J6 activities.
The pointed letter follows testimony from DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz who suggested that the FBI had confidential human sources (CHS) on the Capitol grounds on Jan 6 and that DOJ officials may be slow-walking the release of his final report until after the November election.
The presence of undercover federal CHS assets at the U.S. Capitol on Jan 6 has become a key piece of evidence that casts doubt on the official narrative of the events that transpired that day.
IG Horowitz testified before the House Weaponization Subcommittee on Sept 25, saying that the draft of the Jan 6 report is being held up by the DOJ.
During that hearing, Horowitz confirmed that his draft report would address the presence of CHSs, saying “Our report will include information in that regard.”
When Massie then pressed for information regarding the exact number of CHSs that were on the Capitol Grounds that day, Horowitz replied “I’m not in a position to say that, both because its in draft form, and we have not gone through the classification review, and so I need to be careful.”
The IG’s testimony suggests that the report could contain information that would undermine the prevailing narrative although he testified that he doesn’t know what information the FBI ultimately will decide to keep classified.
Delaying the release of the report until after the November election could indicate that the DOJ is withholding information for political reasons.
In the letter to Attorney General Garland, Massie warns, “If you or any of your subordinates, associates, deputies, or agents within the Department act to delay or interfere with the release of this report, Congress will hold you accountable.”
The letter was also signed by Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Reps. Ben Cline (R-VA), Chip Roy (R-TX), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Victoria Spartz (R-IN), Barry Moore (R-AL), Dan Bishop (R-NC), Harriet Hagman (R-WY), and Matt Gaetz (R-FL).
Hundreds, and they did nothing but help incite, that's very damning.
FedGov is at war with itself. I need more popcorn...
Sounds very stern! :eyeroll:
We all know that the report will start off with the title. After that it will be 100 blacked out pages. Released with much fanfare by the DOJ saying “see we released the report!”…..
That is exactly what I expect the report to look like.
These cockroaches need light shined upon them.
Yea. Invisible
bkmk
Only True Idiots still believe J6th was an insurrection.
If Trump was leading an insurrection then why did he offer to have the NG present? A question never asked.
Or what?
I’m surprised that his request for the national guard wasn’t twisted by the media and Democrats as Donald Trump intending to use the for military coup.
Jim Jordan fever spreading through Congress!!!
[[signed a letter]]
They are gonna need to build an addition to their storage rooms to contain all of the signed letters that nobody on theleft gives a hoot about.
Yeah. I hope there’s no sprained fingers from wagging them so often.
This is like how they went going after him for contempt of congress. Notta
