Well not against each other anyways, but I notice a lot of people on the national stage that I feel deserve a little profanity and some also deserve a good punch in the nose.

Many FReepers put a lot of effort into thoughtful and informative posts but with so many of these types of posts there are not enough hours in the day to respond to them all.

And this is true. After starting to respond to people who have replied to me in this thread, I started to become alarmed that I may have bitten off more than I can chew!

By advocating that everyone deserves a response, I have effectively committed myself to a lot of work when the responses get to be too many.

I hope I will not be overwhelmed.

It would be nice if there was a LIKE button to acknowledge a good post, but this site hasn't been upgraded since the 1990s so not expecting that anytime soon.

And this is exactly right. Of course if there was such a feature, I can see myself getting loads of downvotes for some of the controversial topics I discuss. :)

It would be a nice feature to be added to Free Republic, but this would have to be something the Robinsons would have to decide. It may not be worth the trouble it would take to add it to the existing system.

My beard is not, but only because I haven't let it get that long... lately. My hair is solving that problem by slowly going away over time. :)

But what if everyone started giving a “+1” (or a “-1”) as you suggest? The thread would be full of almost empty posts. Are you going to acknowledge the responses to your original post in this way?
