A special set of stamps have been issued to mark the 60th anniversary of British rock band The Who.
The Royal Mail revealed details of 12 stamps which feature images of some of the rock band's most popular album covers and group shots from their live performances.
The album covers are My Generation from 1965; Tommy from 1969; Who's Next from 1971; Quadrophenia from 1973; Who Are You from 1978; Face Dances from 1981; Endless Wire from 2006; and Who from 2019.
Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon formed The Who in 1964.
A miniatures sheet features two group publicity shots and two images of the band's live performances at the Marquee Club in London in 1967 and the Kings Hall in Belle Vue, Manchester, in 1973.

The Who played at my high school in 1967. Nov.ember 17, 1967.
They opened for the Buckinghams.
What are my all-time favorite bands. Pete Townsend kind of put a black mark on the band because of what he did about 20 years ago, even though he got away with it, but still love these guys.
Keith Moon is probably trashing hotel rooms in heaven
The idea is to issue and sell stamps that no one will ever use. Just about every country does that.
Collectors call it “wallpaper”.
where have all the rock bands gone
long time passing
where have all the rock bands gone
long time ago
where have all the rock bands gone
gone to solo artists, every one
when will they ever learn
when will they ever learn
Google the following: YouTube , credibility gap, rock festival, Who’s on first.
Sorry, am too lazy to learn how to post links.
The band, with Keith Moon on drums, was called “The High Numbers” in early ‘64 before it was renamed to “The Who” that same year.
You are going to be overjoyed, lazy or not. In FreeRepublic, just copy/paste the url into the comment and it AUTOMATICALLY is a link.
The Who
Greatest Rock & Roll band evahh!
My all time fav
talking about my generation...
I have Rotosound strings on my bass guitars. John Entwhistle had some input on the design, so his legacy lives on under my fingers.
They sound awesome, BTW.
I think the (sort of) documentary about The Who is still free on yewtewb. It’s called “The Kids are Alright.”
Thanks....will force myself to find the time and use your advice as a template....freegards.....
Like this, huh? This is just a test.
Thanks ..it worked.....
Most welcome.
Easy is nice. It was good of FR to use this design.
Personally, I’m a big fan of bare HTML. Not fond of the newer versions or of the layout programs. Control freak here. I want everything to be EXACTLY where I want it to be and to look EXACTLY the way I plan it to look. This goes against the philosophy of programs that want to take the control away from you.
I’ve done lots of book writing and have strong opinions on where I want the diagrams and images to sit and how I want the page layout to give the impact I see in my head. So all my thousands of web pages are all laid out in bare html and I suffer when I have to put a book out in e-book format because I can’t escape THEIR control.
Bare html is awfully easy. There are only a small number of forms you have to memorize. Once you do, Layout is Us. Power to the People.
Really glad the easy way worked out for you.
