Easy is nice. It was good of FR to use this design.

Personally, I’m a big fan of bare HTML. Not fond of the newer versions or of the layout programs. Control freak here. I want everything to be EXACTLY where I want it to be and to look EXACTLY the way I plan it to look. This goes against the philosophy of programs that want to take the control away from you.

I’ve done lots of book writing and have strong opinions on where I want the diagrams and images to sit and how I want the page layout to give the impact I see in my head. So all my thousands of web pages are all laid out in bare html and I suffer when I have to put a book out in e-book format because I can’t escape THEIR control.

Bare html is awfully easy. There are only a small number of forms you have to memorize. Once you do, Layout is Us. Power to the People.
