Just catching back up on the thread, so thanks for the ping.
I’ve been dealing with Milton issues this week. Early in the week it was to see if decisions were to evacuate or hunker down for my family in various spots of Florida. They all hunkered down but it was a hard decision.
Now dealing with the aftermath. All have various problems. Some have power, no water. Some have water, no power. Most have limited cell phone service, no internet.
Lots of fallen trees, and I’m talking huge very mature trees. Need chainsaws and backhoes to move them. Some roads are damaged from sinkholes.
One niece was able to locate a generator so that’s been installed as of last evening.
Cleanup will take weeks, and that’s after power is restored.
I take so much for granted. Truly blessed to have a roof over my head, electricity, plenty of food, clean water, and so much more.
And October is not even halfway through!

Cleaning out cabinets ... found a little jar (4 oz glass canning jar with plastic lid) of homemade pumpkin pie spice - it still smells great, but the date is 11-21-18. It’s going in the trash .... will make some fresh in November.
happy Fall!
