The pure quartz mine in NC used for making all the world's semi conductors is at best cut off, at worst destroyed.

To: who knows what evil?
My house is GONE, ALL of my possessions are GONE

Hard to know how to respond to that. Nothing I can say or do will help in the least. Please accept my most sincere condolences for the little they’re worth and know that prayers are being offered to ask God to console you and give you the strength to carry on. I’m sincerely sorry. So much heartbreak and sadness in our world.

You are very kind...thank you! We are beyond blessed to be in Appalachia with good, generous people.

Your kind words are uplifting...more than you can know. I am working with a laptop which I am not used to...especially with this blurry screen. :-)

Looking at these videos, people are “lucky” to be alive if they were impacted.

At present, the main suppliers of HPQ globally are the United States of America, Canada, Norway, Brazil, Russia and India (Pan et al., Citation2022).

The United States of America hosts the world’s largest HPQ deposit, Spruce Pine, North Carolina, which has been mined mainly for feldspar and mica for over a century (Swanson & Veal, Citation2010). The Spruce Pine pegmatite complex is approximately 40 km long and 16 km wide (Brobst, Citation1962). HPQ from Spruce Pine is associated with near-source anatectic pegmatites that locally intrude surrounding host rock and granodiorite plutons (Swanson & Veal, Citation2010).

the quartz from these mines is a high quality type found no where else. It is used for crucibles in manufacturing chips.

Relax. There are many other sources of the same quality - the US just has the largest deposit.
